AO3 invites, Worldbuilding/Abstract Fandoms, and 0 character requests
First, if anyone wants to sign up for Yuletide and does not yet have an AO3 account, write to yuletide@yuletidetreasure.org, and I can send an invite out immediately (even if you're on the A03 waiting list).
Non-traditional Fandoms and Worldbuilding
To accomodate fandoms without traditional characters, and participants who prefer to request worldbuilding rather than specific characters, you are allowed to nominate a fandom without nominating specific characters.
During signups, this means that you will be able to leave the character field empty for your requested fandom, indicating that you are not interested in specific characters. You can then add a freeform tag such as "worldbuilding", as you are allowed one freeform tag per request.
Note: The character fields is the only place you can request specific characters. Don't use the Optional Details field to request specific characters, nominated or not. If your author wants to know more about specific likes or dislikes, they can always use our go-between service to accomplish that.
