Let me ask what may be a silly question: once we've nominated up to six, and before or at the same time as we request up to four, we will be able to offer as many as we legitimately think we could write in, right?

Maybe there needs to be a yuletide glossary of some kind. :-)

Well, we have a FAQ, but already it needs updating! *g*

And the answer is absolutely. You can offer to write as many fandoms from the nominated list as you want to, with a minimum of three required. The more fandoms you offer, the easier it will be to match you, so we like it when people offer a lot!s

How dead is dead? One fandom I'd dearly love (Labyrinth) has a couple of archives but nothing new I can find since about 2004. Does it have to be a decade dead to be dead?

Also, there's recently been published a comic continuing the story years later with the baby from the movie as the main character, could that be considered a separate (and yes, extremely obscure) fandom?

Ah, nevermind, there's still a thriving pool of badfic being written on ff.net for the movie.

But my question about the comic, Return to the Labyrinth, still stands!

Not yuletide related, but: there's actually some good Labyrinth fic on ffn, as well . . . better than anything I ever remember from the archives.

Yes, I know, hard to believe. My baby fandom had to go and get it all backward. ;)

Well, that's good to know, though I doubt it's fic I read -- as far as I can tell it's a 99.99% Jareth/Sarah fandom, which I have absolutely no interest in.

'cor, it really is hard bringing it down to 6. Almost as hard as it is picking four on the entry form!

I should already know this but, if a fandom has already been nominated am I wasting a nomination doing it again? There was a list up for 2009 and basically all my fandoms were on it(and I think they're popular enough that more that one person probably nominated them) Or should I just do it anyway in case someone changes their mind?

That last bit is key, I think. You can't tell how many nominations a fandom has, so if you want to be sure it's eligible (barring being struck for ineligibility post-nominations), you should probably make sure and nominate it/them yourself.
