Chapter 20: Fishy family and dolphins
“Teukie hyung!!! The invitations are all sent!”
Queen Leeteuk moved away from his husband and daughter then wiped the tears on his face before facing the Duke and Duchess… “Thank you for your help Hyukkie, Hae…”
“Aish hyung… how many times do we have to tell you not to thank us anymore? We are your dongsaengs and we do love you a lot.”
Duke Donghae peeked from behind his wife and stared at Patey who immediately hid behind her father, “Ya fishy! Stop scaring my daughter!”
Duchess HyukJae and Duke Donghae both have the same surprised look on their faces that Yuki giggled earning a light squeeze from Prince Changmin and a reprimanding look from her father. Queen Leeteuk let out his famous laugh before coaxing his daughter from behind his husband, “Patience dear… come closer…”
Patey moved from behind her father and took the Queen’s stretched hand… “Hyukkie, Hae… this is our daughter, Patience. Dear, these are your uncle DongHae and auntie HyukJae. Donghae is my cousin so that makes him a close relative. Say Hi to them…”
Patey politely bowed, “U-um… hello Uncle and Auntie… my name is Patience but my guardians call me Patey. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Duchess HyukJae showed his gummy smile, proud of their princess… “You were raised very well Princess Patience.”
Duke Donghae had a gentle smile on his face, “you are certainly Teukie hyung’s child… “
King Kangin cleared his throat and glared at the duke, “Are you trying to imply something Duke Donghae?”
Duke Donghae gulped and hid behind his wife who sighed, “Youngwoon hyung… stop scaring my fishy…”
Patey chuckled and King Kangin’s face softened as he smiled gently, “Your fishy is lucky my daughter is here… uh Teukkie honey, is it all right if we give Patience a little tour around the castle before the party tonight? We need to show her room to her too.”
Queen Leeteuk nodded and grinned at his husband, “that’s a great idea Kangin honey… uh Jaejoongie, is it all right if…“
Queen Jaejoong nodded, “We can stay in the office and the kids can go where they want… Yuki and Changmin know the place enough to entertain themselves, same with the Lacroix fairies.”
The rest of the fairies nodded and Donghae grinned, “We will need to go soon too…my wife and I need to go back to our castle for a bit so we can make sure our son is ready for the party tonight…”
“Baby princess I’ll see you later… don’t go too far.”
“Yes umma… I’m not a baby anymore…”
The Lacroix fairies, duke and Duchess Lee bowed to the kings and queens politely. The fairy royalties walked with the Lacroix king and queen. Patey looked at her four guardians and fidgeted, Suzy made a shooing motion,
“Go… be with your umma and appa. We’ve been here even before you were born so we are okay…”
Patey gave a huge smile and nodded before running towards her mother and father who stopped to wait for their beloved daughter.
Yuki stared at Duchess HyukJae who blushed at the intense glare, “W-what is it… Princess Yuki?”
“Hm… you look familiar… have we… seen each other before?”
Prince Changmin’s eyebrows scrunched, “Love… you were here during the welcoming of Patience, and maybe you have seen him then.”
Duchess HyukJae bowed, “um… I was pregnant then… your majesty blessed the child I was carrying…”
Yuki smiled, “Oh yeah! I remember! I felt like your child was calling out to me… where is he anyway?”
The duchess beamed at the mention of their child, “he is currently in the garden with Yesung hyung and Wookie’s children… would you like to meet my son, your majesty?”
The fairy princess grinned, “I can wait until later Duchess… and please call me Yuki… I get enough “your majesty’s and your highness” in Equion.”
“As you wish yo-… I mean Yuki…”
Once again flashing his gummy smile, Duchess HyukJae bowed and ushered his husband who was also smiling. The EunHae couple left the fairies after bowing to the fairy prince and princess. Yuki turned around and grinned at the three other fairies, “So… what do you guys want to do?”
Ivy smiled, “I’ll go to the ocean, West of Wooneuk’s side… I promised the dolphins that I would visit when I have the time…”
Dify nodded, “I’ll go to the forest and check on the plants growing there… I’ve forgotten to do my rounds this week… a rabbit already told me that the trees and animals had been getting restless cause of the dark fairy king…”
Suzy sighed at the mention of the dark fairy king, “I’ll probably go with Dify in the forest… I might use the opportunity to get more information from the birds and other beings there.”
Yuki pouted and sighed, “mou… can I come with you Ivy then? I don’t have anywhere to go since Appa and umma will be going with Uncle and Aunt…I’ll be alone and bored…”
The fairy prince raised an eyebrow and pinched the fairy princess’ cheeks…”owh… owwie… Minmin, lesch go… (translation: let go)”
“Am I invisible to you?”
The Lacroix fairies snickered and Yuki rubbed her abused cheeks… “Course not Minmin but you will be joining our parents in King Kangin’s office so technically I’ll be alone.”
“I can always ditch our parents and go wherever you like, Yuki. You know I dislike leaving my princess alone… besides… we still have a score to settle.”
“Score? What score? Did we play something Minmin?”
Fairy Dify sighed at the confused expression on her friend’s face and nudged the Wind fairy, “Suzy… let’s head to the forest. There’s a sinking feeling that I cannot shake off…”
Fairy Suzy’s lips set to a grim line and she whispered, “You too? This isn’t good…”
Fairy Ivy noticed the serious expressions of her two other friends and her smile dropped… among all the elements… air/wind and earth element handlers are the first when it comes to instincts…
“Suzy, Dify? Anything wrong?”
Fairy prince Changmin and Yuki looked at the two fairies after hearing Ivy’s inquiry… Suzy shook her head but the fairy prince was still unconvinced,
“Suzy-ssi, you are a master of the wind element…right?”
Suzy nodded and cursed inwardly remembering that the fairy prince was considered as a fairy genius and there was no way for her to hide anything from him…
“Suzy-ssi, I would suggest informing us and the rest of the fairy council if you feel that anything is amiss. Although my father is a wind master as well, his instincts aren’t as keen here in Lacroix compared to you.”
Yuki lightly patted Changmin’s arm that was resting in her middle and smiled, “Minmin… Suzy will talk if she feels there is a need to. Don’t scare my friend.”
“I’m not scaring her or anything, love. I just needed to say that.”
Suzy smiled and shook her head, “It’s all right Yuki… Prince Changmin, Dify and I had been having this weird sinking feeling since we landed here in Lacroix. I cannot say though what causes it but it’s there.”
Dify nodded and sighed, “it’s like something close to me is in danger but I can’t figure out who…”
Yuki bit her lower lip and absentmindedly squeezed Changmin’s arm, “love... I think I have to tell you something…”
Prince Changmin nodded and Ivy’s head turned towards the direction of the West… “I need to go… the dolphins are calling for me. Your majesty, guys…. I’ll see you later. If I get any information from there I’ll send an element message.”
“All right…”
“See you later Ivy! Have fun with the dolphins!”
“Don’t forget about Patey’s birthday later alright?”
“In case you meet a handsome guy along the way, feel free to kidnap him and then present him to us…”
Ivy shook her head and smiled, “Got it guys… except for the kidnap handsome guy thing… really Dify…”
Dify just looked nonchalant about what she said and the two other girls giggled. Ivy chuckled and waved goodbye before she flicked her fingers making lots of bubbles appear and herself disappear.
“I suppose we need to go soon too… “
Suzy nodded and bowed to the Axiem prince, “Prince Changmin… Yuki… we need to go too if we wish to be back before Patey’s birthday party. We’ll see you both later?”
The fairy prince nodded and waited as both fairies disappeared (care of Suzy and her tornado blast) then he smiled at the fairy princess, releasing her waist to hold one of her hands… “Garden?”
Yuki nodded still keeping the serious face and followed her fiancé as walked to the gardens…
Atlas Ocean, West Lacroix
Fairy Ivy apparated on the shore directly under a big coconut tree and she smiled… being a fairy with water masters, she had always loved the ocean…
As soon as she arrived different sea creatures started making appearances on top of the ocean, Ivy giggled and started running towards the water… “Hey guys! How’s everyone?”
The dolphins made a large air jump and the seals clapped their fins as Ivy ran to them floating in the water… a killer whale suddenly shot from the water splashing some on the water fairy earning a gasp and a shriek… “Ya!!! How dare you do that Killa?!”
Killa shot another spray of water on the fairy and swam off… Ivy ran after the hastily swimming killer whale and the dolphins swam after the fairy…
Meanwhile at the shadows of the coconut trees, two figures lurked watching as the fairy laugh and mingle with the water creatures…
“Is that her?”
“Yeah… she’s the water master of Lacroix… think you can do what his majesty requests?”
Brown eyes stared into the blue winged fairy in the water and smirked, “this should be easy…”
“Well then I’ll count on you… make King Woohyuk proud we took you in even though you’re a Halfling.”
The handsome face darkened and the proud smirk was wiped off his face… “I know where I stand HeeJun -nim…”
A Cheshire cat like smile appeared on the elder’s face… satisfied that he was able to irk the heck out of the younger fairy…”see ya around, halfling.”
And with that the dark fairy disappeared… leaving the younger fairy clenching his fists in anger and determination.
