Jaejoong watched the couple dance in a daze.
Yes, they're really together now... Yunnie must be happy.
He left the party, murmuring an inaudible excuse to anyone who asked and brushed off their concerned gazes.
One last try. Four years of numbing himself to rejection, of pining over one man, of masking his sorrows- he could feel the weight of all those things and more- as his confidence slowly pummeled to the ground with every step he took.

It was a bright, Sunday morning, Jaejoong and Junsu were huddled together on the former's bed as Junsu tried to talk some sense into his friend.
"Jae! C'mon! They're together now! I thought you said you'd stop once Yunho proves that he loves someone that is not you!" He knew that he sounded a little harsh, but he needed to nail that fact into his friend's head before Jaejoong managed to hurt himself more.
"I know what I said Junsu and that's exactly what I'm gonna do. I'll stop once I see something, anything that'll prove that Yunnie really does love Seulgi," he retorted calmly.
Junsu sighed heavily and looked at his friend.
"Okay suit yourself... but right now, we're going shopping." That day, Junsu forcefully dragged his friend around different malls, engaging him in constant conversation and talking like never before. All he wanted to do was cheer Jaejoong up and bring back his friend's old carefree self.

Monday was hell; it was, after all, the first day of school after a weekend full of homework. Good thing the majority of the students in this school were smart or the teachers would definitely go bonkers over the amount of unfinished work handed in.
But to Jaejoong, Monday was hell for a completely different reason. This particular Monday was hell.
He sat frozen in his spot as he read the note resting innocently on their cafeteria table. It was Yoochun that brought him the note, taken from Yunho's roomate who found it lying around on the floor this morning. They assumed that it was for his girlfriend, Seulgi.

I hope we get to spend more time together in the future.

Jaejoong shot up from his seat and Junsu immediately followed, telling a worried Yoochun to stay in the cafeteria and that he'd take care of Jaejoong. Junsu followed his best friend all the way up to his room as the latter locked the door and proceeded to cry his heart out in Junsu's arms.

"Jae, come on we have to attend classes!" Junsu banged on Jaejoong's door causing the sleeping boy to wake up.
"I don't wanna Su!" He buried his head under the covers and tried to go back to sleep.
"But Jae! We're graduating students! We have to keep up with the workload!" He banged on the door louder. Junsu really didn't care if they missed any homework and such, they were both smart. He just didn't want his best friend all cooped up in a room alone. Who knows what stupid things he might do.
"JAE!"
"I'm up!" Jaejoong opened the door for his best friend and shuffled over to the bathroom. Once he was ready, he and Junsu separated to walk to their homeroom classes but Junsu turned back after a few minutes and decided to walk Jaejoong to his class first.
"Don't do anything stupid Jae." He mumbled in warning, aware that the school's newest couple had homeroom with the beautiful man.
"Yeah," was the quiet response he got. Jaejoong took a deep breath and stilled himself before entering hell.

Yunho was conversing with his friends when Jaejoong made his appearance. The brunet stopped talking and looked at the other's blank face. He sat up in his chair and prepared to talk, expecting the pretty man to say something like always did.
.... nothing.
Jaejoong walked right past him without a second glance and went straight for his seat. The teacher entered the room and started explaining about something which Yunho didn't catch as thoughts of the other kept pestering his head.
Why am I waiting to hear his voice? Isn't this what I want? For him to leave me alone? Yunho decided that whatever he felt right now was just guilt. Yeah, we've known each other for 3 years and I still chose Seulgi over him, he's always been in my life- it just feels weird that he's not talking to me anymore. Yeah, that's it.
He didn't realize that the pencil he held snapped in half upon catching Kangin lean down to whisper something in Jaejoong's ear very closely.

It had been a month and two weeks since Yunho started dating Seulgi and he thought he'd go crazy. Sure, it was okay for the girl to be extremely shy for the first few weeks but it had been a month; he expected her to open up a bit but no, she was still the same old Seulgi. Every single one of their dates felt empty, he never even had fun. At first, he thought that the blushes and the shy smiles were really cute but now he just wanted them gone. Yunho groaned and slumped on the cafeteria table.
"What's wrong man? You look... uh... down?" Donghae, Yunho's best friend, asked.
"No, I jus- " Yunho paused as he caught sight of Jaejoong smiling at some guy who gave him a bouquet of flowers. His eyebrows narrowed as Jaejoong let out a joyful laugh and jumped into the guy's arms, completely ignoring the stares they got. Who the hell is that?
This, Yunho ripped his eyes away from he sight, was one more thing that would soon drive Yunho insane. Jaejoong had been ignoring him for the past month and two weeks and it felt so weird to Yunho. He wanted to hear the beauty speak to him again- yell at him for being inconsiderate, send him glares, tell him how stupid he was in math- anything. It also didn't help that Jaejoong seemed to be entertaining all his suitors now.

Donghae looked to where his friend was looking and shook his head.
"Shim Changmin, new senior student. He and Jae seem to be close." He watched Yunho's face for any reactions and noticed how his friend's mouth twitched into a scowl while his hands curled up into fists. Donghae sighed and stood up from his seat. "You know...you can be so stupid at times, but man this is the stupidest you've ever been!"
"What?" Yunho grumbled lowly and gave his friend a confused look.
"You don't realize the most important thing in your life until it's taken away from you."

Jaejoong sat in his second period class and twirled a piece of hair between his fingers. The teacher was explaining about seating arrangements and other crap he didn't even care about. He hardly even cared these days.
What made him care though, was the fact that he was currently being moved to sit beside that Seulgi girl.
Why is everyone so intent on screwing me over?
He looked the teacher straight in the eyes and stayed put.
"I'm not moving."
The teacher sighed, he knew she couldn't make him move if he didn't want to. She didn't want to get her ass chased by the boy's fan club for upsetting him.
"Fine, Miss Bae, would you move next to him then?" Seulgi nodded and slowly moved her stuff to the desk next to Jaejoong's.
Through the whole period, Jaejoong watched as Seulgi flirted around with the guys around them- well not exactly open flirting but she would blush at their words and smile at them, not at all stopping their advances.
"Don't you have a boyfriend?!" Jaejoong had enough. Seulgi blinked at him and nodded.
"They why the hell are you letting all these guy flirt with you? Don't you have some loyalty? You piece of- UGH!" He stood up and walked outside the classroom just as the bell rang signalling the end of class. I can't even take seeing her freakin' face anymore.

Jaejoong was walking down the hallway when a loud voice called out to him.
"Hey Kim! Come here!" Jaejoong turned around to find a very pissed Yunho behind him.
So the bitch snitched huh?
When Jaejoong got close enough, Yunho grabbed his arm and spoke with their faces close together.
"What did you say to Seulgi huh? She's crying in the washroom right now!" Yunho wouldn't admit that he practically jumped on this opportunity to confront Jaejoong.
"Oh? What a crybaby," Jaejoong responded nonchalantly. Yunho's grip tightened and Jaejoong winced. "Let go of me," Jaejoong growled, narrowing his eyes when the other didn't loosen his grip. "I said let go!" He swung his free hand up and his fist collided with Yunho's jaw, making him stumble a bit. The taller man held his face in shock; he never expected the gentle student to ever result to violence.
"You... " Whatever Yunho had to say was interrupted by the enraged Jaejoong.
"Why don't you have a nice talk with your girlfriend about loyalty issues and see if she responds truthfully," the raven rolled his eyes. "You are such a bastard Jung Yunho." Was the last thing he said before walking away from the disoriented man.
