Daisuki, Aniyome! was originally going to be a fun, fluffy piece with pretty much no redeeming value. Then, I actually started writing it.
Yeah. That didn't last long.
As it stands, it's turning into this angsty, screwed up exercise in character torture exploration.
I blame a couple of things for this particular derailment. Mainly my own brain.
So far, Sasuke is hopelessly in love with Arainami (fem!Naruto) who is going to be married to Itachi. ItaNaru is the endgame, and that's not going to change. I haven't yet decided if Sasuke is going to fall out of love with Arainami or not in the end, but it's not looking good for him.
Itachi has been collaborating with Fugaku and Mikoto discreetly, shaping Arainami's personality since her infancy. It's pretty screwed up, given that I had Arainami placed with their family due to Mikoto's insistence in the first place.
Arainami is pretty naive, tbh. She doesn't know any different, having grown up this way. Literally, even. She's close to Sasuke but their relationship is a bit . . . Odd. For obvious reasons. She doesn't have a clear definition of what he is to her, or vice versa.
Other relationships (such as the ones with Jiraiya, Kakashi, and even Iruka) haven't even been touched on. At the very least, the former two will need to be handled at some point.
So the intention I had to write a fluffy, funny, romance is obviously not going to happen. At this point, it's not even all that much of a romance.
