Hey all. I was expecting today to be pretty bland. Just some class, TV (Greek and Jon & Kate Plus 8 were tonight), homework. You know the drill.
But after class, I received a telephone call from someone named Teresa. She told me that she and someone named Kurt were going to get Pizza Hut, because they have this "3 for 5" deal - 3 medium pizzas for $5 each. I was hungry, so I agreed.
So Teresa picked me up, and then picked up Kurt, and then went straight to Pizza Hut. It's just a tiny carry-out one. While there, we discovered that caravan drivers don't know how to park in parking spaces.
Once we got our pizzas, we headed back to Teresa's apartment, where we also found someone named Joan and someone named Pullak eating too. So we all sat down and ate, watched a bit of TV and talking. I forget what I mentioned, but all of a sudden, Joan was like "OH" and went to retrieve something from her room, which turned out to be a box with the buttons I made her freshman year. They seem to be moldy or something (the ones I have at home are doing it too). There was then a bunch of reminiscing about freshman and sophomore year. Oh, and we also started talking about our old polaroid wall, which I was very proud of. I mentioned that Polaroid will stop making the instant film next year or so, and you can't just buy a lot because they expire after a while. Soooooo that sucks. But Joan did have (randomly, I might add) one pack of film that she wasn't going to use, so she gave it to me. Thanks, Joan!
After a bit, Teresa mentioned that we also might go to Rita's and invited Joan and Pullak too. Joan agreed and Pullak was iffy - he had homework - but he eventually agreed to go as well. So we stuffed into Teresa's car and went to a different Rita's! It was off of 695 in...Hammond's Ferry? Something-with-an-H and Ferry is all I can remember. Anyways, I was amazed because it's INDOORS.
So we all got our desserts. Kurt went first and got a large, which he soon realized was far too much. I ordered after him and got a kids size, and he made fun of me for it but he was wrong! Ha! I got the birthday cake flavor, which actually tastes just like vanilla pudding. Icy cold vanilla pudding. My initial excitement for it wore off pretty quickly. While there, this other guy driving a caravan also proved to be a shit parking-space parker.
Anyways, we somehow talked about Patapsco and the desk or something while we ate. And then we remembered our tentative plans for a dinner party that never happened, but no worries, because Kurt said that he would have a barbeque around his birthday or something. That sounds fun. I'll bring my Polaroid camera and and take a lot of polaroids.
After that, we returned to the apartment, I gathered my leftover pizza, and was taken back to UMBC. What a fun and unexpected outing. Those are the best.
In other news, tonight I learned what a "
Rickroll" is. It's when someone creates a link, and you think it'll be related to whatever is being discussed or something, but it ends up being a link to this 80s music video of "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley. Apparently, it's been going on for a year or so, but I've never heard about it until now. I'd only heard of the song on VH1's I Love the 80s - when they're talking about how everyone thought the singer was a suave black guy by his voice only to find he's a pale redhead white kid.
And now I'm reading some REALLY OLD LJ entries of mine...
Haha, OK really random. Reading 2/23/04 entry about this latin dance thing Joan went to. I went to one with her later. I remember a lot of twists and stuff...Anyways, this weekend, I watched Dirty Dancing on TV. "Nobody puts Baby in a corner!" I remember watching it as a kid...kinda. "Watching" it. Just kinda like "oh, they dance pretty", so I only really remember the very end when they do the final dance and it ends with the lift. I definitely do NOT remember the abortion stuff. So yeah, I watched it and kinda want to learn mambo/ballroom dancing now. I know in the commons on Wednesdays or Thursdays at night (when I'm heading to the pool) there is some sort of ballroom dancing class. Or something.
Oh, here's a good one. 1/26/05 - Anyways, Joan is a "doof", apparently, which is "food" backwards. HAHA. We talked about that for a while QUESTION: What does that even mean, and how could we have talked about it for a while???
First of all, do NOT watch the puppet show at the beginning of the exhibit. It royally sucks. The puppets are horrible, and they shake a LOT. Carrie was like "do they have Parkinsons??" Hahaha Carrie
Blah. I'm done.
