just the regular

Today a friend didn't recognize me on the street although she was waiting for me, I was coming straight at her and I was waving my hand. The reason? I wasn't dressed in black.

The funny thing is, the times when 90% of my closet was black, white, black, maroon and black again, was back in high school. For the last 5 years I hardly bought anything black. However, this friend of mine is not the only person who perceives me as 'the dark kind'. There are more people who do, and some of them didn't know me in high school at all.

I wonder, is there something in our personality that makes people associate us with certain colours, styles and types even when when we don't use them (anymore)? Is it that somehow dark, decadent, and frilly sits well with me? (I didn't give up decadent nor frilly, just for the record) I have a friend that I kept seeing in black for most of the time we know each other, and to be honest, I do not remember IF I ever saw anything else on her. But can a girl's closet be pitch black if said girl is not a dedicated teenage metal fan? This girl may like it but she also keeps convincing me that Junsu's hot. (*kids*ain't*hot* ...save for Shige before he cut his hair :P) Maybe she does wear other things, maybe I just don't see?

Oh, and off topic:
How come in a town that has more pubs/clubs/restaurants than it needs there's not one decent place to go dancing to?
(The 'because there's no way they're going to play Asian music in Europe' answer has already been considered, thank you)

Off topic no.2:
If you go out with you girl friends, see your ex on the street pretending he didn't notice you and practically running away still managing to put up a show of exaggerated gestures though, and you find yourself laughing out loud there, so loud people probably think you know no manners... does it mean you're being sarcastic, or is it a typical allergic reaction?..
