Update on Catherine
Hey guys, I just came back from the hospital a little while ago.
Catherine is doing great! The surgery on her arm today went well, I was told, and so her arm is in a cast. Her foot is also in a cast but only to keep is stable. She'll hopefully be going home Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Monday she'll have to go back for a visit and then Tuesday is when she'll have surgery on her heel. She hurt her right arm and left heel.
So she was really talkative tonight, very awake. Her body is still weak, naturally, but she's doing better. Her mother and sister said that this was her best day so far and that I caught her at a good time. So for about a full one-and-a-half hour, she was pretty mentally active. Then she got some medicine and started to drift off a little bit and was asleep when I left (around 9:30).
She is so thankful to be alive, though, guys. I mean, it really is amazing and a miracle that she only has a broken arm and heel. God was definitely protecting her and she knows it. Oh boy, does she know it. So yeah, it's just overwhelming awesome to know that she's okay.
And that's why she wanted me to let you all know that she's doing just fine!
The next couple of days are going to be recovery so she'll probably be pretty bored. Any phone calls would definitely be appreciated. She'll have good moments and bad moments, though, between the pain and the pain medication. But all in all she's doing better.
It was so awesome to see her, though. I've been pacing all afternoon, waiting for her or her mom to call, but now that I've seen her, I feel so much more content and thankful. God is definitely working and he's been answering all of our prayers.
