Sorry I couldn't get this to you all sooner...

Catherine Dooley is at Brookwood Hospital right now, probably still in surgery. She's okay, though, so don't worry too much. Here's what happened...

Saturday she went sky-diving. From my understanding, after she jumped out of the plane, the tail of it hit her arm, breaking it in two places. Thankfully she was able to pull the cord and release the chute but she was unable to slow her descent to the normal speed. She slammed into the ground, fracturing her ankle, and was immediately taken to Pell City Hospital.

Kathryn Campbell called me Saturday night and told me. And I have to say that that is probably the scariest phone call I've ever received. I'm sure this post is a little scary for those of you who are hearing about this for the first time, but don't worry, she's okay.

I called her mom Sunday morning and apparently she had a reaction to either the sedative they gave her or the pain medication and stopped breathing for a while. Again, thankfully, they were able to reverse that reaction and she started breathing again. Sunday afternoon they moved her to Brookwood. And today she went into surgery on her arm. Hopefully she'll be feeling good enough this afternoon/evening to see some people. She called me this morning and said that they won't be able to operate on her foot for a week (probably because it's so swollen) so they put a semi-cast (or maybe a boot) on it.

Anyways, she could use all of your prayers and support. I'll try to keep you guys updated.

It's been a crazy couple of days for the people at BSC who knew about it since Saturday night. I can't even imagine what her family is going through. I talked with Dr. Dooley Sunday for a while and he said that he saw her die in front of him Saturday night. Unbelievable... As scary as it is to think about what we'd do without her, it's so much more unbelievably awesome to know that we still have her after such a dangerous accident. Let's just say I've been praying a lot the past few days...
