I probably shouldn't be posting this as I equally probably will not remember to keep the blogging up... but for my fellow MMO gamers out there, I've decided to dip a toe into the game blogging water again. Until someone tells me I'm fucking boring (as has been done before) and I'll creep away to weep under my rock, or something.

Oooo! Is Collector's Edition Open Beta up and running? I have a code and everyfink but haven't heard nothing.

Both of you should check the beta center -- edit AND force a full refresh if you have to. They changed the beta folks' codes not long ago and those weren't showing up till the page was properly reloaded (logically).

People have been known to not get a notification email even after they have been invited.

Eric, I originally signed up around this time last year, so it took a while for me too. Open Beta should start around the 15th, official launch is the 18th of September, preorder/CE head start is... I'm guessing the 15th or 16th.

Ahhh so that's the Beta Center (sic) URL, cool, thanks! I think Europe will be on a different site (apparently we are running late, and the link you've given doesn't have the option to sign up as "UK" or any derivative thereof). The WAR-Europe site has been bobbins since as far back as I can remember; it was down for maintenance yesterday, but is back up now with still no sign of a Beta Centre or any information at all. If you happen to hear anything about UK CE Beta, it would be gratefully received here!

Will keep an eye out but you might be right -- all I've seen so far seems to be US and Oz.

Update -- from various posts at Warhammer Alliance, it's currently looking as thought Euro CE orders are shafted in terms of preview weekends, and that Open Beta won't start till sometime around the end of the month.

It's a pisser, but not entirely unexpected. US developers tend to completely ignore Europe now unless their Euro partner makes a real effort to not be ignored. And god knows what EA is stirring into the mix. I like Mythic - I hate EA, for no good reason, but there you have it (well, except that they buy studios/games that compete with theirs and run em into the ground).
