For a quick re-cap: I went in for surgery on a Wed and was supposed to be released on Friday. I developed an unexpected infection/fever and stayed until Tues. That suck. By Saturday I was feverish and vomiting. Sunday was Easter (which my poor kids did not get to celebrate at all). Monday I was back in the ER and admitted into the hospital for another week as they fought the mystery infection and ran many tests. I was finally released and given a PICC line so that I could drive to the next town every day for IV antibiotics.
I had to take incompletes in both my classes, and have to work out with the profs what I need to complete the term.
After two weeks, my staples have all been removed as well as the PICC. I am on the mend. I have been cleared to drive, but no activity other than walking.
Needless to say, this has been a difficult, stressful, depressing point in my life. I withdrew from everyone and am only now starting to return to normal. I did not want to constantly whine about what was going on.
So, right now I am taking it easy. The week after next I am going to ease back into working. I am beginning to organize small projects that do not require exertion. I am planning on day-tripping Roses and Sommer Draw. Pennsic is still on and I am growing increasingly excited about that. I am teaching 3 classes and running a private tourney. Vacation will be good.
I hope you all have been well and I look forward to meeting up this summer.
