These are the setting notes for "Our Power to Change."

The Riverton Recreation Center is a large complex hosting indoor and outdoor sports, crafts, clubs, and other organizations.

The Community Health Center is a small office surrounded by soothing naturescapes. Not shown on this floor plan, a front porch has been added to shelter the entryway. Inside, it has a waiting room, reception office, four exam rooms, a bathroom, a breakroom, and an office for the doctors. Exam 1 and Exam 4 on the left are for physical health, while Exam 2 and Exam 3 on the right are for mental health.

Riverton Memorial Hospital serves as the county hospital.

The Foundations For Nations Food Pantry includes a food pantry and a clothing bank.

The founding family comes from a tradition of missionary service on the Wind River Reservation and other reservations, although Wind River only has about 3% Christian members; most members practice the tribal religion instead. That's about 345 Christians, enough to fill a good-sized church.

The church is adjacent to the food pantry and clothing bank. It includes a large sanctuary with chancel flanked by two storage rooms. The front of the church has an office, pastor's room, classroom, nursery, and kitchen on the left plus bathrooms on the right, and a row of four classrooms between there and the sanctuary.

The Four Seasons Shoshone Farm uses a combination of hothouses, coldhouses, and outdoor raised beds to grow produce for individuals, local restaurants, and other organizations.

The Foundations for Nations Recreation Center on the Wind River Reservation offers after-school programming for children and teens. The floor plan includes a gymnasium with a kiddie gym and two separate exercise areas, business offices, a children's theatre, three small classroom / playroom spaces, a small and a large multipurpose room, bathrooms, a lounge, a cafeteria, a kitchen, and a large walk-in pantry.

They have a bison herd that is still small enough to manage by moving them from one fenced area to another, but bison are really hard on fences and tend to flatten them a lot.

Lonesome Wind Retreat has a Lodge where its guests can gather. The Lodge has running water, electricity, and Wi-Fi. Its common room offers an assortment of couches, chairs, and tables around the fireplace. The far side has a kitchen with appliances and hearth, along with a bathroom that has a flush toilet.

The large showerhouse has shower stalls and toilet stalls with sinks. The smaller building holds the ADA dottie with a sink, a toilet, and a roll-in shower. The laundry room includes 3 washer/dryer sets and a chair.

The Common Art Studio offers tables, stools, and benches along with portable easels. A countertop along one wall holds several tanks of wildlife as live models.

Along with the modern cabins is a row of cabins set up as private art studios, off on the side with the big stocks of firewood.

Modern cabins are set very close to each other for efficient infrastructure. They provide running water and electricity. The ensuite bathrooms have showers and flush toilets. Inside they have a kitchenette, living area, and bedroom.

Rustic cabins are isolated. They have no electricity or running water. The bathrooms consist of a composting toilet and a nightstand with a water pitcher and basin. Inside they have a woodstove for heating and either a bunk bed or a single bed.

Furnished campsites come with a picnic table and firepit.

Rustic campsites may be pitched anywhere within designated camping areas. They have no fixed amenities.

The large fire circle lies near some of the camping areas and is older than the retreat center itself.

The small fire circle lies near the modern cabins.

The Little Wind River runs through Lonesome Wind Retreat, a good place for canoeing and fishing.

Miles of trails wind through the retreat for hiking and horseback riding.
