Today rated about a 5 on my oh-shit-o-meter; I made a $$ payment on a credit card online and was waiting for my confirmation number when the screen suddenly blanked out, flickered, and then informed me that I had made TWO identical payments. No confirmation numbers were given. I had a shitfit and called the company, who told me that sorry, they couldn't cancel either of them due to the fact that on the East Coast it was after 3 p.m. WTF?? So I informed THEM I was going to cancel the payments, called my bank, talked it over, *drove* to the bank and did a stop-payment on both of 'em (which cost me $25 I'll never see again.) And then I called the credit card company back up, made a *correct* godsdamn payment using my debit-card (they're now blocked from touching my bank account directly for 6 months) and bloody well got a confirmation number this time. RRAAARRRRRR.
...but the rest of the day was pretty good. I just hate being jerked around like that.
Been doing research on cell phones, cell phone carriers, etc. (actually the majority was done by nightingale plus good advice by tranquil_ashes ) and I've pretty much settled on a plan by T-Mobile and a Nokia 6263. So now I've got to cancel my old service with VirginMobile, start up the new contract, and then kill off my landline. Thing is, what order does one do that in? I can't dump the landline 'til I have the other set up, so that means first I have to do one or the other; when I set up the new one, will they stop my old one? Don't think so; so I have some calling to do.
Last night me, dqbunny , god_emperor27 and lil_1337 went to see Deathnote II; it utterly rocked-- I liked it *much* better than the first one. Now, from what I was told, they altered the plotline somewhat from both the manga (which I've read about half of) and the anime (which I haven't seen any of.) Dunno; all I know is that it was really, really well done and I'm seriously glad I went. ^___^
Tomorrow I have my last knit-socks class in the morning, and then I'm slated as manual labor for 5 hours or so to help taranos and avilina move to their new place. And *then* I think I'm supposed to go see Mythbusters live or something...? Whatever; and Sunday... I really, really need to get out and away, so I think I'll head to Madera Canyon again. I wonder if it ever snows there? Bet it does, and when it does I want to go walk in the woods. I haven't walked in snowy woods since I lived in Germany all those years ago.
Okay; must go feed the cats and myself; Icka's run away somewhere again (her dad's either in town or on his way in, so this isn't surprising) and it's quiet, just me and the cats and the weasles. A good evening to relax, kick back with some tea and my knitting and possibly watch a zombie movie.
