After the JAM Concert Day 2
BEFORE THE CONCERT
I was blissful when Cosplay Mania announced that one of their Japanese Anime Music guests is Yasutaka Nakata-san! I immediately shared the news to Perfume desu! Philippines (a local community for Perfume fans). Many Filipino Perfume fans were shocked with the news!
Yasutaka Nakata-san is the music producer behind CAPSULE, Perfume, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, MEG, etc. He also made some songs for virtual youtuber Kizuna Ai, J-Pop artist DAOKO and Yonezu Kenshi. As a huge fan of Perfume and Kyary, I made sure not to miss this once in a moment live concert!
I arrived at SMX Convention Centre, SM Mall of Asia at around 2pm. I was with Perfume fans too and with Ate Michelle from AMUSE PH who’s also a Nakata-san fan. I wasn’t able to roam around the area since there were too many people but I got to say hi to Kaila of Rainbowholic / Kawaii PH. I was so glad to see her again here in Manila. Before seating for the program, we chose to eat first in preparation for the concert. Bacon cheeseburger of Minute Burger was delish! I ate two. Haha
We were able to catch the program of the seiyuu (voice actors). The guests for Cosplay Mania 2019 were Kumai Motoko and Okubo Rumi. Kumai Motoko is most popular for her role for Card Captor Sakura: Li Syaoran. Meanwhile, Okubo Rumi is popular as Elizabeth Bathory of Fate Grand Order. We got to know them through the question and answer portion and I was greatly entertained with their voice acting talent. They were amazing! I am greatly familiar with “Cardcaptor Sakura” and I felt so lucky to hear the real voice of Syaoran live! Okubo Rumi’s voice is too cuuuute to handle too!

DURING THE CONCERT
The Cosmania staff let people inside the concert hall at around 6:00pm. We were at the barricade and it was such a good spot! Even though we were only at the standing section, it was still a good location. Cosplay Mania by the way has the “no camera” rule. And, I am really grateful for that since I enjoyed the concert so much without cameras blocking your view.
My lovely friends from Seishun Kakumei was the opening act. This was their dream stage!! I was amazed by their performance. They greatly deserve the spotlight. I know they worked hard for it! Congratulations again!!
After Seishun Kakumei’s performance, the staff of Nakata-san prepared his stage set. I was already screaming even before Nakata-san hit the stage. I was so shameless! Haha I even screamed more when he already came to the stage with Ichigo Rinahamu!
My memory is vague. But, I think the very first song was “Fashion Monster” by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. The audience was so pumped up! He played four Kyary songs: “Fashion Monster”, “Harajuku Iyahoi”, “Candy Candy” and “Ninja Re Bang Bang”. “Harajuku Iyahoi” was so fun!! I was chanting "1, 2, Iyahoi" and singing throughout the song!
Ichigo Rinahamu was also so cute on stage when she performed "White Cube", "Bokura no Network" of DAOKO and a new song "Echiechi no echi".
Almost everyone in the crowd cheered when Nakata-san played Kizuna Ai’s AIAIAI. This is I think the only song most of the people in the audience know since Kizuna Ai is a popular virtual youtuber even here in the Philippines.
I also appreciate that Nakata-san played “Nanimono” and DAOKO’s “Bokura no Network”. I had “Nanimono” on loop when it was released. It was the ending theme for Sato Takeru’s movie with the same title. I also love DAOKO’s music! She’s so precious!
I also screamed at the top of my lungs when Nakata-san played “TOKYO GIRL” and while the screen was filled with “TOKYO GIRL’s” music video. I almost cried!! I was seeing my Queens on the huge screens and listening to their music with very loud volumes!! It was a “party” time indeed!! Nakata-san even played some popular Perfume tunes such as “Chocolate Disco”, “Polyrhythm” and “Laser Beam”. Although, it was a disappointment that “Polyrhythm” was cut midway due to technical difficulty. He also played “STAR TRAIN” by the way and I think that was a perfect ending since this song is so important to Perfume.
Here’s the set-list as noted by one of the members of Perfume desu! PH, Kyle. Thank you. (in no order)

I also stayed for the second artist’s performance: MYTH & ROID. I was blown away by their mighty vocals. I am glad I stayed longer and I’m actually checking their music on Spotify now.
AFTER THE CONCERT
After the concert, I said hi to Aira of “Aidoru Sozai”; a J-Pop idol unit here in the Philippines. She’s also a fellow Nakata-san fan especially a Perfume and a Kyary fan too. According to her, she cried during the concert. Such a precious baby! I also finally met Ashley of MNL48 (former member)! I was so starstruck! She’s a cosplayer and a fan of Japanese entertainment too. She’s also been covering J-Pop songs and dances for ages! Goodluck to your future endeavours, Ashley! I also said hello to Seishun Kakumei and I also congratulated them. They indeed rocked the stage!
Thank you to my friends who were with me during the concert: Ate Michelle, Alphonse, Donna, Daniel and Kyle. I’m glad I didn’t buy a VIP ticket or else it’ll be lonely for me. Haha
Thank you also to Kuya Ais who gave me the Nakata-san photo with signature. I am grateful.
Thank you too to Nakata-san for making awesome sauce music throughout the years. I’ll continue supporting your music. I’ll look forward to more of your projects for Perfume and Kyary.
And lastly, a huge thanks to all the Cosplay Mania staff for making this possible. And, congratulations as well! Thank you so much for bringing Nakata-san!!
