Rejoice, fellow Filipino Japanese film enthusiasts! More Japanese live-action films will be landing on Philippine cinemas!

Shinobi no Kuni or Mumon: The Land of Stealth already started screening last August 23rd. Meanwhile, both Tokyo Ghoul and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable will start to screen on September 6, Wednesday. Three more Japanese films: Gintama, Ajin and Kodomo Tsukai will be screened soon. Dates to be announced! This is the very first time wherein Japanese films screen consecutively in the Philippines.

I think we, the Filipino Japanese entertainment fans, are blessed since we are now part of Japan's entertainment map. We started with the live-action film of Rurouni Kenshin. I hope this continues! Hopefully, we get to receive more Japanese movies and drama series on TV as well. And, next time, live concerts of J-Pop and J-Rock artists/idols too!

A block screening for Shinobi no Kuni that was organized by Filipino Johnny's fans was held on August 26th at SM Light Mall. You may read more about it here at my previous entry. The movie was brought to you by Odex Private Limited; the same film distributor of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable. A special fan screening was held yesterday, September 2, for Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. It was organized by Odex Private Limited and Animax Asia. You may read about it here on Anime PH's website. The fans received some wonderful freebies! My apologies I could not attend the said event since I ran out of budget already. Too bad since the freebies are so cool and I'm already excited to see the movie! (Side note: There's also an ARASHI fangathering today, September 3rd. I regret not attending it as well.)

Tokyo Ghoul is being handled by Viva International. It will exclusively screen in SM Cinemas. I'm sure fans would be broke since Tokyo Ghoul and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure will start to screen on the same day!

Viewers' Choice Philippines will bring us Gintama and Ajin. The screening date for Gintama was moved to a later date. It will be announced soon on Viewers' Choice Philippines facebook page. The screening date for Ajin will also be announced soon so I greatly suggest to follow their page. Viewers' Choice Philippines already announced the screening dates for Gintama and Ajin. Gintama on September 20 while Ajin on October 11!

More details to be announced for Kodomo Tsukai. As of now, no film distributor claims to handle the movie. However, it was already announced by the website of the movie that it will be screened internationally including the Philippines.

Let's continue to spread the love for J-Pop culture!! Cheers to more Japanese films in Philippine cinemas! <3
