*sigh*
i am working my ass off right now. i assumed books-a-million would be an easy place to work at, and i prolly wouldnt get as many hours as i wanted.
WRONG.
i was hired last tuesday, called into work on wednesday (i wasnt scheduled for that day), and had 25 hours scheduled this weekend alone, with 45 hours coming this next week, and about the same the week after.
within my first three days, i have been trained in customer service, voids, the cafe, and checkout cashier.
as a cashier, you have to sell a certain amount of discount cards within a three week period, or you'll be written up. the first day at register, i passed that amount with flying colors- the second day, i failed miserably. my streak was abolished. damn.
the bad part about this job is, even though im receiving a hella load of hours, i make a lousy 6.50 an hour. i have to buy a laptop and have money for the next year in new york, BEFORE i leave in october, as i cant work while im up there.
shit.
but i do love the people there.
