It was there, in the back of his mind. It never left, it never gave him a moment of peace or the brief salvation of silence. He thought that escaping Gallifrey might ease them, because they were the Time Lord's creation, after all. His mind was their vicious game of roulette.
Koschei was vengeful, and now the only company he had were the occasional

She never really gave a fuck about things like that. If someone wants to kill her, they can kill her. She doesn't have anything worth stealing.
And normally, a cute boy would not cause her to stop walking. But when a cute boy steps out of a dumpster in an alley... well, that's something that makes her stop and blink.

And his eyes land on her. Already he can feel something about this girl, but he can't quite place it. He can't quite come to know why, perhaps, he feels drawn to this woman. His lips curl in a twisted smile.
"Are you alright, miss?" And he approaches, for now, false concern planted at his front. After all, a girl walking around a night couldn't be a good thing. And with the way she was staring... He couldn't wait.

People are not Mary's strong suit. She's just going to... flee, a little. If that's alright. Not that Koschei's not welcome to follow her...

Oh, this one would be fun. She might even start feeling the faintest of movement in the back of her mind, where he's trying to feel, trying to plant fingerprints, making her that much more aware of him. Whether he succeeds or not, is still up in the air. Her mind seems complicated.
He follows her, and, after a few moments, reaches out to touch her arm, "It's really not safe to roam around at night like this, you know." There's that smile again.

She rolls her shoulders a little. There's something tickling at the back of her mind about him, but... well, she'll just shrug that off as thinking too much.

He puts up an innocent expression and still watches her closely. There's just something about her. Something he felt when he attempted a go at her mind. Something so familiar but he was unable to see it.
It was frustrating.

"I'm Koschei," he offers her a hand. "Now we're anything but strangers." There's sarcasm heavy in his voice.

Innocent expression, maybe, but she doesn't think he's innocent. Though, granted, the worst she expects from him is trying to get in her trousers.

But when their hands meet, it sparks the drums to life, their beating, pleading, everything against this girl. Because this girl? Oh, he had a sneaking, sneaking suspicion.
He clutches the hand in his own a little tighter, tugging her closer, a smirk set to his lips. "Can you be so sure?" And he's well aware she has another free arm, but he is determined. Now with the connection, she might even feel pressure at the back of her mind or hear that constant beat, hear the numbing noise that makes his eyes go dark.

There's a pounding in her head, faint, not quite in time with her heart beat. It's making it hard to focus on getting away from him.
He sets off some sort of alarm in the back of her head. He's familiar somehow, and it makes her jumpy.

"Very well done," he mocks, his voice low, harsh. There's a laugh behind it and something wild burning in his eyes. "But you don't belong here, do you? You don't exist, miss Mary."
He can feel her pulse beneath his fingertips, heart running wild and hot with adrenaline and fear. Oh, the fear. It made him laugh louder. He tugs her again before his free hand moves to clutch her chin.
"What are you hiding from me?" It's nearly growled out and his grip tightens, anger growing in his voice.

"Let me go!"

It was exhilarating.
He staggers back when he's shoved, but his hold on her hand is strong. He keeps his distance for now. "And why would I want to do that? Do you really want to be let go? You'll be all alone out here, cold, lonely... and without one person to care." He might even sound sentimental. Maybe. Sort of. Eh.

Mother gone. Father gone. No siblings. No friends. She's just a sad little shopgirl who no one gives a rat's arse about.
"Stop," she says, a little less forcefully. "It's not like you care."

But as she speaks, his expression softens and his grip on her hand loosens. "Oh, don't be like that now." He might even try and gently, carefully pull her closer. "Do you know that for certain?"
His smile is a little less twisted, but he's waiting. Waiting for that moment. Moving so that he's just a good step or two away. "Perhaps... I am the only one that does."
Which is unlikely. Very unlikely. Either that or he cares in a completely different sort of way.

This is bad. This is very very very very very bad.
And she's not actually precisely sure why.

"Oh, you. You are brilliant."
He might release her hand, but he's right back on her, trying to shove her back against the wall of a decrepit building. "Fighting won't save your little secret. And no one will miss you if my hand so slips..." He clenches his fist in the air, "And you fall breathless. Hungry for your petty, disgusting human needs until even your heart can't stand you any more. Your own body so tired of being you miss Mary Tyler." All while he speaks, he's laughing, almost uncontrollably.
Oh, he's gone fishing for a few details, so maybe he can pull a few more surprises on her.
