Yesterday, I received an email from a high school friend, telling everyone that his twin sister (another semi-close friend) has been on a slow decline over the past few years due to a serious mental illness. Her family don't know exactly what it is because she won't tell them, and legally they can't know if she doesn't want them to, but her behavior is very schizo. They're not sure where she is at the moment, so we're to keep our eyes open for her, let them know if we do see her around town, and make note of her behavior and posture.
Here's the interesting part, though. I found out from another friend that apparently her parents disowned her a few years ago. And now they want to know where she is. Ugh.
I can't imagine what a lonely place she must be in right now. It's something that terrifies me - losing my "sanity", or rather, my ability to function "normally" in society.
