She just had to keep telling herself that it was absolutely no big deal what she was doing. It was dinner. People ate dinner. They prepared dinner. They liked dinner and so did Sarah. So it was just a dinner to thank Casey and so what if he had saved her life and so what if she sort of maybe potentially liked him slightly.
She was sure people had liked each other in the course of history. That was how friendships came about and all. Things set at her own house, she had made her way to his place and took a shaky breath as she stood there, feeling the unmistakable desire to run, like old habits kicking in hard.
But no, she was stronger than that. Braver than that. She would go through with this. "Casey, it's Sarah," she announced herself as she knocked rapidly at the door. "I'm here to pick you up."
