Event.
I have been rendered speechless by the past week or so. Eventful, but not. Glorious, but not. Depressing at times. Rejuvenating at other times.
Enough of that.
The greatest day, by far, was Wednesday. SARS and I went to the best concert of my life. The Unicorns are an awesome band to listen to and an even awesome-er band to see live.
The concert would have been wonderful on its own, but it was enhanced by so many other things!
First, Helena and I went to Sophia M.'s home. We dropped off our stuff and gossiped and looked at livejournals and made fun.
Then we went to BROOKLYN. We went to eat with Crack. Things got out of hand and Ms. Pneumonia got snow in her face. Man, some people need to be more cautious around the sickly.
After that, we went to the show!! But before we went in, I had to try out my fake ID. Thankyou Jennifer from Georgia! I could have hung out at the bar, but I am glad I did not. The Unicorns just aren't the kind of band to get drunk with (they totally are).
We were early, so we went on a tea hunt. We found a place, I ordered green tea. I then made Helena order hot chocolate for me and gave her the nasty tea. As she was ordering, the infamous RON passed by. I smiled and kind of mouthed "hello". He then proceeded to discuss my smile and the fact that I was Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farms and I would some day care for horses. Last time we talked, Ron told me I'd be a housewife, a lawyer and a writer. Ron is a madman.
At the show, I saw some kids from Staten Island, but since I prefer to ignore my Shaolin roots and pretend I am from somewhere else--anywhere else, I ignored them as well.
THEN, I saw a friend from camp. And then I got shy. And then I lost him. And then he found me. And we talked about bands and stuff. And then we watched the UNICORNS. And then we decided to be BFF and go to shows together. But I don't know if THAT is going to happen. Jeff Showers: one of my many heros.
After the show, I thought we'd go straight home. But the night was so lovely. And we were on a post-concert high. And Andrew text messaged us at the right moment. And he met us outside. And it was lovely lovely lovely. And we went to buy orange juice. And ASHER was there. And he recognized me and we talked about the show which he couldn't get into. And then he was shocked to hear that I was still in high school. And I was shocked that he was shocked until I realized that I was friends with a whole bunch of older kids since freshman year (probably one of the reasons for my smaller circle now...)
Asher just capped off a really nice night. He made it truly surreal. I forgot what a GOOD DAY was. Nothing went wrong. And the next day, I ate the biggest breakfast ever. And I was happy. Truly happy. Until I was snubbed in school. And then I was back in my usual place. I stalked the halls, realizing that a great day only makes the next day extra horrible.
Dunbar ROCKS.
Acoustic Rilo Kiley DOES NOT.
