Those birds know a good thing when they find it.

They're very prolific, these mourning doves.

Apparently they can create as many as five nests a year. If Bertha and Missus are the same bird this would be at least number 3, and I could see one having taken place before the door nest. I suppose another one might be possible in September, although they'll be running up against a weather change by the time the babies leave the nest.

I love that the birds are back! I'm looking forward to more pics and babies. :-) I've never been to a comic con, but I think it's great that it's gotten commercial, but with commercialization comes a lot of homogenization. It will be nice if Comic Con can keep all the great original stuff that keeps the die-hards coming back for more.

It will be interesting to see how things morph. I suspect the sheer size will continue to attract a certain amount of marketing, but I would guess other Comics conventions will start becoming more important for comics fans, simply because they won't be lost in the shuffle.

At the same time, I think the studios and TV/film production companies are going to split off into their own thing. There's a lot of crossover from comics to films these days, but I don't think that comics will ever be more than a niche medium. The audiences for TV versus comics are enormously different.

"The audiences for TV versus comics are enormously different." exactly, and I'm sure where the TV posse gets involved it will be as slick and commercialized as possible. I noticed years ago how the actors all seemed to have their answers memorized and just repeat them from different interviews.

It will definitely make a difference if they're going to become people with talking points or if they're going to be willing to go off script.
