Cat Stevens = Yusuf Islam / The Rain
Очень рад возвращению Кэта Стивенса - под новым именем "Юсуф Ислам" - через 28 лет после выхода его последнего студийного альбома.
Имя он меняет не в первый раз: родился (от мамы-шведки, папы-грека) и вырос как Стивен Деметре Георгиу.
Сегодня ночью слушаю вторую пластинку "Юсуфа Ислама" Roadsinger (2009).
И меня меньше всего волнует, как его теперь зовут, и какую религию он исповедует. Владимир Соловьев и Мадонна - каббалисты, Cat Stevens с 1977-го года - мусульманин. Председатель Комитета ВС России по религиозным организациям, православный священник Вячеслав Сергеевич Полосин ислам принял. (В 1992-м вместе с ним в составе парламентской делегации ездил в Италию).
Для меня это не важно. "Вы - свободны. И будете свободны. И перед рабами не в ответе" (Ольга Седакова).
Мне важно то, что он делает.
А Cat Stevens вернулся в музыку, как будто не уходил.
Не помню, какую его пластинку мы слушали 30 лет назад в нашем дачном подмосковном поселке - все его альбомы у меня теперь есть, некоторые даже на виниле, - но такого драматизма, как в The Rain с его последней пластинки, я не помню.
