Onions? In the peas!? What the hell!

I can't stand soccer. Granted, I'm not a sports person to begin with, but soccer isn't even remotely entertaining. It's right up there with baseball and basketball and golf. Football and hockey are really the only sports I can understand watching. Anyways, it's a field full of drama queens, isn't it? ISN'T IT?!

Push Not the River by James Conroyd Martin
My aunt recommended this to me. It's a fictional book, but based on the real diary of Polish Countess Anna Maria Berezowska from the late 1700s. I loved the historical bits in it (it deals with the division of Poland, the Constitution of May 3, 1791, Catherine the Great's army), since I'm not really knowledgeable on Poland's history. It's a very easy read and I really couldn't put it down. Some parts were a little too romance-y for my taste, but in the entirety of the novel there's not too many. There's an incident by a pond and once Anna finds out what exactly happened... let's say my mind was blown. The book kinda leads you to think on way, so I didn't think that at all.

A song partially in Manchu. Reminds me a lot of Mongolian or even Tuvan, actually.

We went to the States on Saturday after I finished work. I bought The Rape of Nanking by Iris Chang at Borders. Then we ate at Mexican Town ♥♥ I eat entirely too much when we go there, but it's just so. good.

And since everyone seems to be doing this movie meme, why shouldn't I jump on the bandwagon?

Day 01- The best movie you saw during the last year

Hated it the first time I saw it, but I ultimately attributed that to trying to watch it while falling asleep on an almost-9 hour flight. I gave it another chance and totally changed my mind. Lots of talking. Lots of talking. But, it's so well written that it's, for the most part, just as entertaining as the action scenes. The scene at the beginning with Hans Landa and M. Lapadite is just awesome. It was also really funny at times, which I wasn't expecting. Christoph Waltz, if you haven't gathered this by now, was amazing in this movie. I also thoroughly enjoy seeing how much I can understand without reading the subtitles ;) lol.

Heh, turns out I was overcharged for the 4 Paul McCartney tickets. Cool :)
