Metallica ... and other stuff.

So, Metallica concert. Took the freaking tunnel bus again - biggest waste of time ever. Got there like 10mins before the first band, but it didn't matter much. They played at Joe Louis Arena and I saw Linkin Park there last year. LP's stage was at one end of the arena, but Metallica had the stage in the middle, so you could stand on any side of it. We had a really good spot for the first two bands, so I regret not taking pictures. The Sword were good, but should just go intrsumental. Machine Head were pretty killer. Their vocalist asked us how were were and the guy behind me was like "pretty good!' LOL. Of course, people started coming onto the floor for Metallica once Machine Head were done, so I got pushed back a bit.

Keep in mind, I'm not a Metallica fan; it's not that I don't like them, I've just never bothered listening to anything that's not on the radio. They were fucking awesome. The crowd wasn't what I expected. There were people over 50 there and kids younger than my sister. No moshing at all (at least by us); just a lot of head banging and fist thrusting lol. But, it was so packed on the floor D: For LP, only like 2/3 of the floor was full, but there was no room this time. There's this neon line that goes around the floor that you can't step outside of, so the staff kept pushing me back in. There was nowhere for me to go! And then they'd barrel through behind that line to remove people or whatever and we'd all fall into eachother. It was totally packed in there.

My view sucked by the time they were on, so I only could see when they came to the edge of the stage. Even though, they were still really close. This stage set up worked really well for being close. For what I knew, they played: One, Enter Sandman, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Cyanide, Seek and Destroy, Nothing Else Matters, Master of Puppets, Sad But True; they played longer, but those are all the songs I could recognize. Sad But True is so much better live than on the album. You could tell their set was nearing it's end and I thought 'oh no, they're not going to play Enter Sandman D:' but they did and it was fucking great.

It was one of their crew members' last night after 22 years of working with them, James said. We all got to say goodbye to him and they took a picture on stage. They also had these huge beach ball-type things for one of the last songs. Once someone caught one, they held on to it almost for dear life and immediately deflated it so no one would take it from them.

Yeah, it was one hell of a concert. The walk back to the car after going through Windsor customs was not fun though. Windsor customs are musch easier than the US ones though lol.

School, why must you suck so much? Even next year, if I switch my major to history, what the hell do you do with a BA in history and a minor in German? I don't even really want to take history because I know I'll have to take classes for stuff I don't care about. Grade 11 history was all I needed to know about ancient Greece, thank you.

Speaking of history, I finished John Man's Genghis Khan: Life, Death and Resurrection tonight. It was such a good read. Some people, so I've read in reviews, don't like how he added in bits of his travelling experience, but I thought they worked really well and were often necessary or give more of an understanding or information. The chapter about his burial place was really interesting. Personally, I'm kind of torn on the subject of searching for it or not, but I won't ramble anymore haha.

Music wise... I really like alan's latest song. It's not all boring and sappy and shit; it's actually interesting to listen to. I found some good Mongolian pop songs, which I posted at AHS and as usual, nobody gave a shit. Why do I even bother? lol I'm particularly fond of the one I have by Burmaa and I found the missing song on Serchmaa's Making Me Crazy album, which just so happens to be the best track :)

I haven't ordered MUCC's singles yet. I didn't end up ordering Live Chronicle 2, either. That release just came and went without me caring :/ It was just way too expensive to even consider. Who needs all that junk inside it? Just give me the two damn discs.

Sorry for not commenting on anyone's entries lately. I've been lazy.
