Colors
Pink.
Junsu liked dolphins, hell, he loved dolphins. And a thing that really confused Junsu was the reason why fans always sent him pink dolphins. Dolphins are supposed to look blue, right? Or at least grayish.
Another thing that really confused Junsu was that the pink dolphin that was supposed to be his would be in the middle of Yoochun’s present. And a Mickey Mouse was always in between his presents.
“Junsu hyung, your English is getting worse day by day. It’s written YooSu on the box.” Changmin said opening a stack of chocolate cookies and stuffing them into his mouth.
At first Junsu didn’t understand what Changmin said, partially because Changmin’s words were muffled by his constant crunching cookie sounds. Thinking about it for a long time, Junsu finally understood what Changmin had said.
Getting up from the couch and tossing the magazine that he was flipping on the coffee table, he walked to the music room. Where Junsu was sure that Yoochun was.
Opening the door, Junsu saw Yoochun sitting by the keyboard, Yoochun’s fingers dancing gracefully on the keys. Producing a melody that Junsu hadn’t heard before. Junsu walked closer to Yoochun, not missing that pink dolphin that was sitting on Yoochun’s lap.
Junsu tapped Yoochun’s shoulder lightly; Yoochun turned around and lowered his headphones, waiting for Junsu to say something.
“Yoochun!! Tell our fans that you like blue stuffed dolphins, not pink ones!” After Junsu said that he ran out of the room, leaving Yoochun quite confused, but Yoochun understood what Junsu meant.
At their very next interview, Yoochun mentioned that he had been obsessed with the color blue, buying lots of things with the blue color.
The next day that the interview was released, blue stuffed dolphins swam into their apartment.
Yellow.
It was not the first time that Yoochun’s clothing disappeared from his wardrobe, especially because he shared a room with Jaejoong. Though this time Yoochun really couldn’t find his bright yellow belt.
It was not everyday that he wore something bright and that caught attention, but today Yoochun felt daring. And yet… he couldn’t find the damn belt. Yoochun had asked everyone where the belt was.
Well, not Yunho because he forgets where his pants are when he’s wearing them, and Jaejoong because he was out, with some friends. Yoochun could just call and ask Jaejoong if he had seen the belt, but Yoochun was sure that Jaejoong was already coming back, since he left about 3 hours ago.
Just as Yoochun thought, Jaejoong was in front of their door, wearing the stupid bright yellow belt that Yoochun was trying to find. Well- at least he found it now.
“Hyung! I was looking for that belt.” Yoochun said, pointing to the belt that fit snugly around Jaejoong’s waist. Wait, snugly?
“Oh, this belt? I’m sorry; I’ll give it back to you.” Jaejoong unbuckled the belt, after taking the belt out completely, Jaejoong’s jeans slide lower, his hipbones slightly showing. And Yoochun’s worst fear became real.
On the belt there could be clearly seen three extra holes, obviously made with kitchen scissors.
“Jaejoong hyung, I hate you and your waist.” Yoochun stated, looking sadly at his bright yellow, now ruined, belt.
“Oh, come on. I’ll buy you a new one.” Jaejoong said hugging Yoochun. Yoochun too wrapped his arms around Jaejoong, feeling Jaejoong’s tiny waist. Maybe, after all he didn’t hate Jaejoong’s waist at all.
Red.
Jaejoong noticed that he and his members didn’t have any clothes with the color red. And he thought that it was horrible! Since red was DBSK’s color. Determined, Jaejoong went to the closest shopping mall, wearing a disguise of course, to buy red T-shirts.
At first he didn’t find any red T-shirts, actually, he didn’t find any shirts at all. He was in the pants section, and quite lost, and he blamed his fame for this, because he wasn’t used to going out a lot. Jaejoong thought about asking a clerk, but that would only lead to him being recognized.
Finally finding where the T-shirts were, he looked through and found a place full of red shirts. Almost running to there, he picked the shirt that had no prints or any funny details. He looked at the sizes and thought that the small one would fit them, but Jaejoong wanted it to be a little bit larger, so he picked five medium size red shirts.
When purchasing the shirts, Jaejoong was sure that the cashier thought that he was insane. Just because it was 9:30 in the morning, and he was buying five, plain red T-shirts, and not just one. But well, Jaejoong didn’t care, right?
Returning to their home, he found Yunho on the couch, looking through the TV channels. Walking to Yunho, he pulled out the shirt from the shopping bag and gave it to Yunho, who gave Jaejoong a confused look.
Jaejoong told him to wear it and Yunho just put over his wife beater, not really bothering on asking why. Smiling, Jaejoong walked to the music room, where he was sure that he would find Yoochun.
Jaejoong found Yoochun trying to clean his shirt, on the spot where he spilled coffee. Jaejoong told him to strip the dirtied shirt and wear the red shirt instead, and Yoochun accepted it, grateful that Jaejoong didn’t notice that the dirtied shirt was actually his.
He was walking to Junsu’s room when he found Changmin coming out from the bathroom, hair still wet and wearing only sweatpants. Jaejoong scolded Changmin about not wearing a shirt after taking a bath, saying that he would get a cold and gave the shirt to Changmin, who wore it with an annoyed face.
Entering Junsu’s room, as expected he found Junsu on his bed, talking on his cell phone with his twin. Junsu was still sleepy and confused, his eyes still swollen. Jaejoong just handed Junsu the shirt and did a hand motion, meaning to Junsu wear it, who wore it without any complaints, since he was laughing about something that his twin had said.
Jaejoong too wore his own red shirt, and put his apron around his waist, making breakfast. When breakfast was ready, Jaejoong called everyone, who came rushing. After all, it was not everyday that Jaejoong cooked.
When the five of them were seated, Jaejoong was sure that they all noticed the matching shirts. But they didn’t say anything; they just smiled and thanked Jaejoong for the food.
Jaejoong smiled; finally the five of them had a matching shirt with the red color.
Green.
Changmin was watching TV when a pistachio ice cream ad appeared. He suddenly remembered eating the pistachio ice cream in one of the Japanese TV programs that they filmed. Changmin remembered the soft texture, the amazing taste and soon he found himself talking on the phone, ordering 10 tubs of pistachio ice cream.
Going to the kitchen and avoiding Jaejoong to not get suspicious. Changmin opened the cutlery drawer and retrieved a spoon, and skipped to the living room. Holding the spoon and watching the TV half heartedly.
After half an hour that seemed a whole century to Changmin, the doorbell rang. Yunho was going to answer the door but Changmin beat him on it. Changmin happily signed the papers that the postman showed him and glanced at the postman’s back.
There weren’t ten tubs of pistachio ice cream. There were ten barrels of pistachio ice cream. Barrels. Hell, not even Changmin could finish all that, no one ever could. Even so, Changmin brought them inside the room and the other members started to pool around him.
“Changmin-ah, what is this? I hope that is not alcohol, manager hyung is going to kill us.” Junsu said looking around the room, as if checking if their manager was in the room.
“No Junsu hyung, that is not alcohol, its ice cream.” Changmin replied Junsu while opening one of the lids, happily spooning the ice cream and eating it. In a blink of an eye, the five of them were all holding spoons and eating the ice cream. Not really caring if the other barrels were starting to melt.
And it all started with Junsu accidentally dropping a spoonful of ice cream on Yoochun’s pants. Yoochun actually wanted to get back at Junsu, but instead the ice cream landed on Jaejoong’s hair.
Then they all experienced Jaejoong’s wrath. Ice cream flew to every corner in the room, at first Yunho tried to stop the food fight. Well, at first because after the unsuccessful attempt Jaejoong grabbed a ball of ice cream and threw it at Yunho’s neck.
The ice cream fight officially began. The green ice cream landed on the floor, walls and their body, painting them green.
Changmin started to throw loads of ice cream at Jaejoong, shouting revenge. Unconsciously the other three also started to throw ice cream at Jaejoong. At the end of their unfair match, as Jaejoong said, they were all laying on the floor, their bodies wet and green.
Changmin was watching Jaejoong, who was trying to fix his hair. At first Changmin thought that Jaejoong hadn’t noticed him watching. Until Jaejoong snapped at him.
“Yah, Changmin stop looking at me!” Jaejoong said hitting Changmin on the arm.
“Hyung, it’s good for the eyes to look at green and beauty.” Changmin replied also hitting Jaejoong’s arm. Then started the Soul fighters’ way of showing love to each other.
Blue.
Yunho didn’t really like blue; he had always preferred white or black. Until he heard Jaejoong say that he looked really good in blue. Then he started to like blue more and more.
Again sadly, Yunho started to dislike blue, because it was a depressing color. Yoochun must have heard Yunho commenting on the depressing blue color, because the next day they were laying on the rooftop of their apartment, looking at the blue sky.
“Yunho hyung, do you think that the sky is depressing?” Yoochun asked, raising his arm to block the sun from his eyes. Yunho didn’t have time to say something because Yoochun asked another question. “Do you think that the ocean is depressing?”
This time, Yunho had more time to think because both of them remained quiet. Even so, Yunho didn’t reply Yoochun’s question.
“Well, the sky would be depressing if it was only blue, but it has the sun illuminating it, clouds and birds decorating it, sometimes airplanes too! The ocean too, it has the animals; people go to the ocean play too. So blue is not depressing.”
After saying that, Yoochun got up and left, leaving Yunho there. Thinking. Then he got up quickly and went back to their apartment. Looking around his closet he finally found a navy blue shirt.
Walking to the living room, he grabbed a colored pen and started drawing on the shirt. Catching the attention of Junsu, who happily grabbed another pen and started scribbling random English words.
Jaejoong and Changmin came to the living room to watch TV, but when they saw Junsu and Yunho on the floor drawing on the shirt they wanted to join too. Junsu caught a glimpse of Yoochun coming out from the bathroom and soon invited him to start drawing too.
Just after a couple of minutes and lots of laughter, the shirt was ready.
“See hyung, blue isn’t depressing when you have other colors too.” Yoochun said, smiling to their leader.
“You’re right.” Yunho replied to him, smiling too.
Rainbow.
The five of them missed each other so dearly. They’ve never been separated for this long, and this stupid lawsuit made them experience this loneliness. Sometimes they would contact each other, through text messages or e-mails, but it was never the same.
They each missed something. Junsu’s unique laugh, Yoochun’s hug, Jaejoong’s random comments, Changmin’s wittier comments and Yunho’s leadership. They couldn’t bear to be away from each other, when one day, Jaejoong finally called Yunho.
“Yunho-ah, I want to see a rainbow…” Jaejoong said, his voice a little desperate.
“You can see it when it rains.” Yunho replied, obviously thinking that what Jaejoong said was really strange.
“No, I can only see a rainbow when the five of us are together. Right now I’m only seeing black and white.” Jaejoong replied, when Yunho was about to say something, someone called Jaejoong. Jaejoong quickly replied to the other person and said to Yunho.
“It’s not only me Yun-ah, Junsu and Yoochun wants too se a rainbow too.” After Jaejoong said that, the phone went dead, obviously Jaejoong hung up the phone, because Yunho was still calling for Jaejoong’s name.
The next week, the weather forecast said that it would rain the entire day, without stop. Yet, Yunho called the other four to go out, since it was the only time that they didn’t have any schedule.
Yunho was the first one to arrive at the park. They had decided to meet at the park because obviously no one would go to the park on a rainy day, except for them. Parking his car on the park’s parking lot and opening a blue umbrella, he walked to the tree where they were supposed to meet.
On the tree there was written DBSK with a heart around it. Many people thought that some fans had done it, but actually it was the five of them, in the days that any of them could sleep.
The second one to arrive was Changmin, holding a dark green umbrella, walking to Yunho avoiding the puddles with his long legs. They exchanged greetings and waited for the other three.
They could only see a blur of bright yellow and pink before two figures pounced on them. Recognizing the figures as Yoochun and Junsu, they hugged. The four umbrellas forgotten on the ground.
They were about to break their hug when someone else came running and literally jumped on them, making all of them fall on the grass. Now a fifth red umbrella on the floor as the five of them laughed and tickled each other.
The sky started to clear while they were laughing, making the rain stop completely and the sun come out. After a couple of minutes a rainbow started to form, they laid on the soft grass, not caring that it was wet, to look at the rainbow.
“I’m seeing a rainbow now and I don’t want it to disappear.” Jaejoong said, pushing his wet bangs back.
Now the five of them could see rainbows, since they’re each other’s colors.
