I battled Shelob today. I'm cleaning in the basement at work, and a giant spider the size of a walnut scurries along the window, awakened by the deep breath of the famous R2-D2, our local vacuum cleaner. I try scaring the giant spideress, but it only flinches, like it's sizing me up. So, I grab my trusty rubber hammer Mjollnir and tried to squish Shelob, but it wouldn't be bested without my magic gauntlets. I throw down Mjollnir and resort to my weapon of choice, the giant screwdriver Excalibur. With one mighy stab of Excalibur, Shelob was defeated, bifurcated at the torso. In honor of my victory, I lift a 2x2 concrete slab and smash it to pieces, unearthing the earth beneath. Excited by my discovery, I pick up Gungnir, my shoveling device, and begin to unearth the earth beneath the unearthed earth. However, the clock ticked 4:50, forcing me to leave the discovery for tomorrow. To be continued...(this has all been a true story)
Besides that, I went to Starbucks after work with the love of my life (there's a new one on First and Ogden(?) that Karla found). We relaxed and talked and had a great time like usual. I'm really proud and happy for her. I almost forgot how funny she is as we don't really have much alone time together anymore due to my work schedule and volleyball. I really wish I could spend more time like that with her like at school, but that's why I did what I did today when I got home.
When she dropped me off (sorry babe if you think you're my chauffeur [and yes, that's spelled right, I just checked]), I asked my mom to take me driving, she was a little reluctant at first but she had to go to Dominick's anyway so she took me and my sister driving. My sister drove there, and she was pretty good for not having driven in 5 years. I got to drive around the parking lot and back. For being like the third or fourth time driving, I did pretty good. I was surprised to learn that I have a pretty good judgement for the placement of the car. I did turn a little too fast like twice, but I managed to fix that pretty quickly during the latter part of the turn. I also had a problem with stopping a little too late at first, but the late, hard stops eventually dwindled. Overall, I think I did pretty well, and hopefully my mom will take me driving everyday so that I can get my license soon, like in the next few weeks. That way, I can repay Karla for all these years of driving me and my friends around, and she can also stay out later since she won't have to drive home alone. I know this may sound stupid to those of you who already drive, but I'm happy because it's a start. Oh yeah, to celebrate, I ate a piece of angel food cake that my mom bought at Dominick's, it was DELICIOUS, like the perfume Karla wears. I love that smell. I love Karla.
