a rant on sex and sexuality, part one.
Now, I don't know this from experience, but I'm pretty sure that, looking back on it, it would really suck to have your virginity taken by a one-night encounter.
But I'm a hundred percent positive that it really, REALLY sucks having your virginity taken by somebody who meant something to you... especially after they don't see the same beauty in you that they did that night when carnal urges took hold. And even more especially after they just completely walk out of your life.
I've been thinking about sex a lot lately- about what it means to different people, mainly. Some people see sex as a means to show their feelings, some people see it as a means with which to connect yourself more intimately with another person. Some people might argue that those two are one and the same, but showing your feelings and connecting intimately are not the same thing.
Some people see it as a way to control, others as entertainment. Hell, some people see sex as a job.
And of course let's not forget reproduction. Which in itself tends to be quite the job.
The point is that this formerly taboo topic, although it's still taboo to some- can be taken several ways. There's much more to it than meets the eye.
