I took a chance, I took a shot....
Things are looking up.
I've been doing a fair amount of songwriting lately. The lyrics just... seem to flow from me every now and then. Mainly when I'm just laying in the grass, smoking a cigarette and contemplating life's various mysteries.
Like why love never seems to last.
Or why so many teenagers are having babies.
Or why it's so easy to connect with someone through words.
And why I can never seem to find the right words at the right time...
I guess that I'm growing and changing. I found out that Zack has a girlfriend now, and at first it felt like my heart was breaking. I came to the realization that it really is over between us. It hurt like hell, at first, admitting that to myself. But now, I see that if I had stayed with him, some of the things that have happened in my life as of late... would not have happened. I re-connected with an old friend of my dad's, and he found out that I'm a singer. He has a recording studio in Concord and would like the opportunity to work with me in the studio one of these days. I'm really excited about that. And guess what? It wouldn't have happened if I was still with Zack. I would never have looked him up, would never have gotten in touch with him...
And would never have written my [un]love song. [which I think is one of the most amazing things I've ever written, to tell you the truth]
I've been listening to a lot of Taylor Swift lately. I don't know what it is about her music, it just kind of... reaches me. She truly is a gifted songwriter, I don't care what anyone else says.
The kittens are growing, and they're absolutely adorable. =] I love them so much. I'm so glad that I've had the opportunity to take care of them. Rebekah is going to be taking my favorite kitten, Gremlin, in a few days or so. I can't wait! He's the perfect kitten for her, no joke. =] And apart from myself or my father, there's nobody I'd rather have him go with than her.
Pita's in heat again, and we're going to have to get her fixed pretty soon. My momma kitty is growing up so fast! And she's litter box trained! [believe it or not, her kittens taught her how to use the litter box, haha.]
So... that's my update. I think I'm going to start typing in this thing as regularly as I used to, not sure yet.
