We are the gap that they will never bridge

What a lovely day, I like days like this, they make me think and inspire me to be productive. That said I've done nothing much *but* think today, still it's been nice to sort things out in my head. I think it's the cranial equivalent of defragging or something, makes me feel better regardless.

Last night I ate at Wagamamas with manniqueen_ and Bongo. I do like that place, there's decent sized portions, the raw salad has the nicest dressing ever, and drinking the apple and lime juice makes you feel instantly healthier. After Julie departed for the Horn in Hand (the name of that pub *still* makes me snigger), myself and the Bongloid went on to the Rescue Rooms, where we joined pai_kitagowa (who provided me with a fantastic 'Team Boobs' badge) and Duncan (aka Sell-Out's 'Different Gravy') for a beer, a whiskey, and several drunken games of Buckaroo. This was something I'd never played before, but it's adult potential is completely lost on children. Toilet humour it may be, but the 'exploding in someone's face' joke just wouldn't die. Seemed to be a busy night in there, with spazhammer and Olivia floating round, and us being joined by a drunken Blinky. Ben, Fran, 'pretty redhead whose name I can't remember', berrega and beattiedee were also in attendance, although I didn't get the time to talk to them properly.

Deciding then to move on to a surprisingly busy Rock City. I suppose it was because everyone's back for the Easter weekend. Had a decent time 'gay dancing' to Fall Out Boy and The Killers with Sarah and her housemates and drinking with Bongo and kam_p. I was also finally introduced to 'hot girl with short hair and big eyes', who I now know as Amy. You know when you've seen someone out in a club for years but have never had cause to talk to them? Well add to that randomly seeing them in Manchester, Sheffield, and most bizarrely of all, Aston SU in Birmingham. We'd always sort of half-waved-but-not-really at each other, but Bongo knew her as one of the FlashMosh crew. Nice to finally put a name to the face, there. Stayed out most of the night, it's nice how Friday feels like Saturday (helped by Nightmare moving days), so tomorrow will feel like Sunday (with a night out on the end) and Sunday is a bonus day (with a night shift at the end, but nothing's perfect). Hell, if Monday's nice I can even go out to the park during the day or something.

After my successful pimping of Trait the other day (gig at the Greyhound in Derby in May), it's time to advertise the services of another of my friends. Dan at Devious Creations, MySpace profile here. He's based down in Surrey, and I believe he's most interested in music/band artwork projects, but will turn his hand to anything. A couple of you may know him if you know Althea, varioussorrows and adam_supernal perhaps? Anyway, he's the man to turn to for all your graphical needs. Go look!

I've found out (thanks to augustus_hill that the amazing DANKO JONES are playing some dates in the next fortnight. Has anyone apart from me actually heard of this lot? I'm thinking Birmingham on the 23rd possibly? If you're into balls-out blues rock n' roll, this is the band for you. They've got a MySpace, with a couple of tracks from the new 'Sleep is the Enemy' album. Go listen!

In the spirit of asw909, I have another 'for your entertainment'. I'm sure you're all aware of the 'Snakes on a Plane' thing doing the rounds at the moment. I think I'm the only person to find it incredibly boring sometimes. Regardless, I couldn't help but smile at this potential theme song.

Hell, I'm even out of time for memes, and there's even the odd interesting one doing the rounds. No time for more old photos either, maybe tomorrow.

So, tonight will be Nightmare, the rest of the weekend will be spent hopefully relaxing in the sun. We're starting tonight at about nine in the White Hart if anyone would care to join us?

We'll fight, forever if we have to
We'll stand, longer than you do
We'll win, never any question
Of the reason why, or of our intention

entertainment, pimping, gigs, music
