The devil seems happy to smile at me

Well that was a sedate weekend, compared to those i've been enjoying recently. Friday night, and I meandered to town, bumping into a svelte looking tinker_goth and Steph en route. Despite common sense telling me otherwise, I ended up in the Sal to help lost_in_moose celebrate his birthday. There were many people out, but my attempts to get the Pipex staff to sing 'Jump In My Car' fell on deaf ears. After a far-too-expensive pint, and despite people having cunningly secreted themselves in the snug and away from the karaoke, I bailed to the pit, and then the Malt Cross, where I continued my long run of 'running into people I used to know' with Shelf being the barman. Got home, played Return to Castle Wolfenstein, slept a lot.

Saturday, did some shopping, bought things. Nothing of huge interest though. Tom came over in the evening and we chilled out a bit before hitting Kryogenix. Kryo was far too hot, but nicely populated, and I enjoyed conversations with the_alleycat and ikklebabyj before the heat got to me. I declined joining the others at Wildside, my tolerance for glammies is somewhere approaching zero and I'm sure they don't appreciate my company either, instead I chose home and transferring many Flying Circus episodes to the xbox and more Wolfy. I must thank imagnocean for my 'discovery of the weekend', namely 'Relentless', Coca-Cola's answer to Red Bull, cheaper, tastier, and stronger. Also the reason I didn't sleep until 10am on Sunday.

Having finally slept a couple of hours, it was off to the cinema to watch Colin Farrell's facial hair in 'Miami Vice'. Props to shallowthing for knowing too much about guns, and of course vampiric_monkey for once again sourcing tickets. The film itself was largely vaccuous, but pretty. Perfect Sunday entertainment then. Post-film, we had a swift drink in the Speak Easy before I found myself at home, again not tired. Managed to squeeze in another Bond, this time 'GoldenEye' before finally getting some sleep.

And now work, and back on day shifts. No joy here at all. I can't be bothered ranting, maybe tomorrow :p Found out Danko Jones are touring later this year, and the Reading lineup looks better than I thought :)

I'm off for a swim, for the first time in a long time :)

work, films, nights out, computer games
