At 6:10 tomorrow morning I will complete the 23rd year of my life. It is quite a unique and odd time. I will doubtfully spend another March 4 anticipating marriage or a knee surgery--or in Albuquerque, New Mexico for that matter.
Indeed, I am in a spot of much anticipation. Quite immediately I am anticipating my Spring Break trip home (home! I can call it that now...Harris, Iowa has felt like home to me much longer than it has made much sense to call it that, but it really does make sense now.) And every now and then I feel a pang of nervousness about going under the knife. Maybe that is called anxiety.
What I want for my birthday from you is suggestions for songs for my "Going/Coming Home" mix. Those seem to be the type of songs that get my heart beating the fastest lately. So far the tracks I have compiled are:
Home/Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
Sawdust Man/Ben Kweller
Yankee Bayonette/The Decemberists
Sons and Daughters/The Decemberists
Kissing the Lipless/The Shins
