Rating: Teen (liable to change)
Characters: Kurt, Artie, Burt, Blaine, Others
Warnings: AU, Slash, Supernatural beings, Violence
Summary: Kurt Hummel hadn't attended school during the day in over a year. He is part of the population in Lima, Ohion considered to be an Other.

Kurt took a deep breath as he and Artie slipped passed the bouncer and into the club. Temptations was a club that was made for Others. Vampires, werewolves, sex demons, ghouls - you could find anyone and anything here. The humans who made it in were lucky and most waited in line for hours. The only restrictions on which humans got in was their age, eighteen, and the fact they were screened. It took one lawsuit to have that policy set in place.
Artie was bobbing to the music playing over the speakers as he made his way towards the beverage counter. Kurt inhaled the scents surrounding them; arousal, sweat, anticipation. It made him shudder with want before he trailed after Artie and ordered a candy flavored blood.
“Still not old enough for the good stuff?” The bartender slid a martini glass with a Jolly Rancher sucker as a stirrer towards Kurt with a bright smile.
“So close!” Kurt answered as he twirled the lolly around in the blood before taking a sip. He let out a heavenly sigh before sending the bartender a thumbs up and moving to an empty table. Artie was already the center of attention with a few ladies and even a couple of boys. His body moving with a rhythm only an Other could move to. Others could hear the smallest details in the music that made they’re movements seem planned and felt sensual to those around them.
“What are you doing sitting by yourself?” A voice broke Kurt from Artie watching. He stared at the curly haired man standing across the table from him. His eyes were the most mesmerizing color of deep amber. They seemed to glow under the bright flashing lights of the club. His clothes looked to be a tailored fit. The button down shirt was rolled up to his elbows and the slacks emphasized all the right places.
Kurt tipped his head towards his empty glass, “Needed something to sate my appetite before getting out there.”
            “A fan of sweet things?”
            Kurt nodded, “Most definitely.”
“Well, now that you had your appetizer, would you like to join me on the dance floor?”
“Blaine!” A blonde slid up behind Blaine, “We have to go unless we want to get locked out.”
Kurt inhaled deeply as he watched Blaine disappear into the crowd of humans and towards the exit. Even in Temptations not many humans risked approaching a vampire. Blaine was different. He wasn’t afraid of Kurt. It wasn’t long before Artie had separated himself from his admirers and had a hand on Kurt’s shoulder.
“He’ll be back,” Artie looked at Kurt with wide eyes. Kurt’s shoulders had dropped and the ever present smile seemed nonexistent. “You ready to head home?”
“Yeah,” Kurt nodded. “Dad will be waiting for me and your mom will be worried.”
“They know we’d kill anything that tried to hurt us,” Artie patted Kurt on the back before urging the vampire through the crowd and out into the crisp air of the night.

“Hey kiddo,” Burt Hummel was yawning from behind his hand as Kurt made his way through the kitchen. “Good night?”
“You know you don’t have to be awake at this time of the night, Dad. You have a full day of work tomorrow and I can see you first thing when the sun goes down tomorrow,” Kurt sat next to his Dad with a sigh.
“I just miss you sometimes,” Burt shrugged. “I don’t really get to see you that often during the week because I’m asleep when you go to school and you’re sleeping when I go to work. I figure since I’m the Dad I should have a few sleepless nights so I can out with my kid vampire.”
“I can make you a coffee if you want?” Kurt looked towards the clock over the stove top. It wasn’t even three in the morning and he was offering his Dad caffeine to jump start his day way too early.
“Nah, I figure I’ll veg out on the couch and watch television with you. I TiVo’d that movie you wanted to watch.” Burt stood up and headed for the living room. He stopped when Kurt curled his fingers along his elbow. “What is it?”
Kurt wrapped his arms around his Dad, “Just thanks. Being a vampire isn’t easy and you make things feel like normal.”
“I’m your Dad. It’s what I’m here for.” Burt eyed Kurt with a critical eye, “You sure you’re okay? Nothing you want to talk about?”
“Nah,” Kurt shook his head. “I’m just going to shower off real quick and then I’ll be ready to start the show.”
“Well you know where I am if you ever need to talk.” Burt grinned. “The couch.”
Kurt let out a chuckle as he descended down to the basement and started to peel his clothes off for a shower.
