Okay, my landlord just let me know that a 2-bedroom in the building next door (which he also owns) is opening up. I'm trying to decide if I should take it.
The plusses: same location (which is super-convenient for a lot of things and is in easy walking distance of both campus and downtown), only having to move next door (makes the idea of moving seem much less soul-destroying than moving further away), getting to keep my landlord (who is awesome and responds to stuff that's broken usually within an hour or two of when I call him).
The cons: the rent is $790/month (I currently pay $560/month for my 1-bedroom, and if I were staying here I'd be paying $580/month next year, so it's a substantial increase).
Advise y/n? I still haven't checked out the inside, and so don't know whether it has a larger kitchen than mine does, or how big overall it is.
