Thank ye! :D Though I feel like such an attention whore posting that picture up in so many places. ^_^; You might want it at a bigger resolution if you're planning to print it out though. That, or print it out small. :p ( ... )

I really like that! Everyone's instantly recognisable (even though Marla has a twin, which is confusing), and I'm jealous of your talent. I always mean to practice more with drawing and my tablet, but I never quite get around to it, or if I do, I end up frustrated at what I produce. Meh.

I think it's a pretty good background, because the focus should be on the characters, and you've done a good job to illustrate that it's on the boat, and the textures and colours just finish it off. I like :)

Thank you! :D If it helps differentiating between my ranger and Fae-Fae's, her's is generally dyed black all over where as mine is stock factory standard coloured. :D
Practice is good! No body creates masterpieces after two or three doodles. If they did, everyone would be creating beautiful stuff and the truly skillfully drawn things would lose their value. :3 You should see some of my earlier work. Poowee~ what stinkers they are. XD

The background I rotoscoped (or traced) from a screenshot because I really could not be stuffed working out the perspective and stuff. And even then I rushed it because it was taking so much effort. X_x But still, thanks! I'm glad the effort that I did put into it still shows. ^_^

your coloring and taste for composition is constantly improving at incredible speeds, yosh.
but you should really set some time aside and try to catch up on your human porportions.

that said, this is a wonderful piece, i like it.

Thank ye~ :D Yeah, I guess my sense of anatomy could do with a little fine tuning. What parts in particular do you recommend I examine more closely? :3

the head and neck area would be a good start.
it doesnt happen all the time, but i notice your faces often assume squarish porportions, whereas if you looked at some of your own realism fanarts, they're more vertical ovals.
the neck area is also sometimes protude pretty long. at times, it kinda reminds me of those national geographic photos of those african tribes women who wear rings around their neck to extend it.

i hope you pardon the critique, since your profession is entirely a different field, i'm always hesistant to give you critique. because art is more fun when you're doing it without the pressure of being technically correct all the time.

Every attempt that I've had at elongating the faces, the characters, particularly the female ones, don't come out quite as pretty. I dunno, maybe I should practice it a little more, but I've kind of developed a liking for the way it is at the moment. ^_^;

I'll keep a watch out for the necks though. Yeah, some of them have come out quite embarassingly long. I think I get a little distracted by other details and not put enough care into them.

I don't mind the occasional critique every now and again - it's nice to know what things are obviously out of order. I just don't like it when people are really anal about technicalities in pictures. I mean, everyone's got their own style after all. :3
