Dear Dragon: 2013-08-03

Dear Dragon:

The three of us went to your extended family’s (the Stitt’s) housewarming party. We had a great time there, until 20:30, where grandma & grandpa loaded you and your cousin into their car, and left. You will be spending the next 3 nights at grandma & grandpa’s house.

It was my idea, your grandma has been asking us when you will be able to spend the time at her place, and I figured you were ready for it. Especially when I found out you will be there with Caitlin, Dylan and Sena. You are in for a fantastic time… however…

I did not realize until I heard you were being loaded up to go, that I wasn’t ready for this. I procrastinated coming up stairs to see you off, and by the time I was going to head up stairs your mother came down to tell me you had left. My heart is pretty heavy right now. I will need to make serious mental notes of this. One cannot drag one’s feet, especially when it comes to being with someone as fantastic as you, otherwise, one will miss out on those important moments. I am sure you are too young to have thought “hey where is dadadada”, and it probably wasn’t important to you this time around. Next time, it is likely to be far more important to you, and I am finding it was important to me, and I missed it.
The moral of this story is, grab every minute you can Dragon, for if you drag your feet you may find you missed out on something that important.

I am sorry, and I will attempt to not let it happen again.

I love you my Dragon, and can’t wait till Tuesday:
Dadadada

P.S. “Duck” is signed with your fingers away from your face, not towards your face. But we will get there.

dear dragon
