I think I'm going to write a nasty note to the FCC
I'm fairly upset that the Torino organizing committee felt the need to assure NBC that there would be no hanky panky at the upcoming opening ceremonies. Our puritanical nation has gotten out of control. I watched every minute of NBC coverage of the Athens opening ceremonies and there was nothing objectionable, prurient or lewd going on. Ok, Katie Curic is an annoying bitch and anyone who complains about her is a hero in my book, but that's not what these masters of our morals were outraged by. They were upset that a little skin was shown at the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games. NBC, and through them our nation, has no right to dictate the moral or aesthetic standards of an international exhibition of sport and culture. If we're so terrified of the human body and it's expression through sport, perhaps we should be watching something else while the rest of the world celebrates it.
