Bandage is on its run now. Anything of you has changed after the movie?
No, not at all. Nothing has changed. However since I had interest in movie before, now my feeling about it becomes even stronger.
You said you wanted to make movies. Today during the shooting, you were composing songs by using GarageBand. That song is really nice ne. Do you usually compose?
Yes. these days I'm locking myself in the studio for my solo live in Nissay Theatre in Feb, like I composed for a whole day yesterday.
Have you finished all the songs for it?
I think it's better to prepare many and then choose from them. So it's hard to say at this moment. So far 5 songs were done completely...my goal is to compose all the songs there by myself, so there's still long way to go.
Do you compose for performing purpose?
No, based on more if the song is good enough or not. I'm still negotiating with Nissay Theatre (this interview was done on Dec 27th) , which includes the discussion about performing and others.
So the time is tight ne. You must feel a big pressure ne.
Not really. I feel like normal, so there won't be any problem I think. UN...I'll do my best!
I see (laugh). You looked great the time you concentrated on composing during the shooting. I think I did many good pictures there. When you compose, do you sometimes concentrate too much that you forget meals and sleep?
Yes. Quite often.
Other than using Mac to compose songs, you also wrote something in your bed. May I ask what did you write?
Just random diary.
Do you keep writing diary?
Not really, it was only because I had nothing to do there.
Did you write that one in English?
That one was in English.
I feel that after Akanishi-kun started with English, we see clearer about what Akanishi-kun really wants to do. Did you say you feel more comfortable speaking in English?
Occasionally yes. Actually there are times I can't speak either Japanese or English. When I was studying English, I only focused on English, therefore occasionally I can't speak Japanese. Sometimes it's easier to express in English, for example, there are some long sentences in Japanese, which you can express just in a few words in English.
Which line do you like most in English?
I have my favorite line in Japanese. I don't have one in English tho.
So what's that?
なんとかなる (you'll figure it out eventually when you are there)
This is really a nice one (laugh). Personally, I think Akanishi-kun is somehow probably highly expected by the public. Wish you will have a great career in the future. Although Akanishi-kun is already very popular, somehow I feel that you haven't used your full power yet.
Are you talking about me?...I've done my best (laugh).
No I don't mean that. I mean in the future you might do something even bigger, or I should say maybe you still haven't found your trail.
My trail...
Such as, like do you have any overseas actors that make you feel "this person is really awesome".
To talk about that, I actually admire the overseas environment more. There's a big difference in the entertainment system of there from here. Based on that difference, there's also difference about what you can do and what you are going to do. I think what I want to do fits more in that kind of system. I don't know if I can be successful in that system or not, but the world there is more broad and there are many people with real great abilities. If you are asking me do I have enough ability to survive there, I think I don't have yet, however from deep inside my way fits more in that environment, in other word, it'll probably be easier for me if I'm in that system. Many things in Japan are difficult to do freely. I don't think it's the same over there.
In US, many actors produce their own movies ne.
Yeah. Like Crystal Kay and I are friends. When we drank together, we said let's do a song together and it would be good if we could co-operate together. Although in the end we did make one, but it wasn't able to be released in a CD. If it happens there (US), I think the song could be released right away. It should be normal there, so I wish Japan can establish a system like that. Another thing is it'll be better if Japanese can change the way they look at the artists.
You said something like "if can, I'd like to live overseas, and come back when I have projects to do in Japan." in a magazine before, right?
Un...if that's what my words to be understood like, then it's kinda misleading. Actually I didn't mean to have an overseas base. What I meant was, if can I wish to buy house overseas that I can go and come back, the same like you spend weekend in villa. I think I might look weird in many entertainment insiders' eyes, but there are also many who stand by me and support me. For me it's already enough as long as people who do understand me understand it. Even if there's something called "the end" is waiting for me, I won't feel regretful. I'm a person like that.
Feel like you have thought thoroghly about that.
Yeah. When it comes I'll move onto the next.
In the end, what makes me curious is that although you've said that, after I saw you putting all yourself composing songs, I have a feeling that you can't really be away from all these in the future. Do you think you'll want to create for all your life, no matter in what kind of ways?
Yes, because I love music.
So eventually you'll root in music, right?
No not only music. I also like making movies.
Out of personal interest?
Yeah. I did it privately. I wrote script and made a film, and gave it as a present for my friend's birthday. Do you think there's anything better than this! As a gift I mean.
The one who got the present must be very happy ne.
Also in a Bandage meeting, I released Bandage monomane led by staff-sans.
Really want to see it ne.
If can I want to direct movies. It doesn't matter even if my name isn't on. Now I'm learning about image and such, also will try to learn lighting.
Even do lighting by your own?
Yes, because so far I can only do independent ones. If I don't know these, I won't be able to continue. I'll carry facilities and do street scenes too.
Then, we are expecting to see the movie made by Akanishi Jin someday.
Ma, I don't know if I can make one to be released in cinema, but I will do movies. Another thing is I'll gambatte for composing songs for Nissay Theatre. Although there's the line like "you'll figure it out eventually when you are there", in this case, I'm the only one I can rely on.
