The Plan -- sell FMIL's house in Florida and use the dough as a fat down payment on a duplex. She'll live in one side, we (me, hubby-to-be and doggie-makes-three) will live in the other.
After 4 months on the market, The Plan was starting to look less and less Plausible. FMIL swore that if we buried a statue of St. Joseph upside in the yard by the front door, the house would sell soon. Last week, St. Joe found himself ass over tea kettle in the dirt by the door. This week, we've got not one, but Two parties interested in the house. Seriously interested. Making-us-an-offer-soon interested.
whoa dang. The Plan may be Plausible after all.
Next week, hubby-to-be and I are meeting with a realtor who specializes in multi-family residences to get our ball rollin' toward home ownership. (Thank you, Halbe!) And Today, I've got a major stress headache. Is this what being an adult feels like?
At least I'm not obsessing about wedding stuff... this will give me something with which to distract myself from locations, caterers, photos, cakes, dresses, veils, flowers, invites, and guest lists. My life is more than planning a wedding, damnit! (I just have to keep telling myself that.)
