i was at the post office getting stamps this morning... there was only one person in the whole place, and it looked like she'd been there for awhile, judging by the frustration on the face of Ms. Postal Worker. she was arguing with the lady behind the counter about whether or not certain styles of stamps came in certain denominations (she apparently had an affinity for the Hershey's Kiss stamp),
and was Positive that it came in a 63-cent variety because she'd "seen it on other people's invites!!", despite the ultra-patient postal worker telling her no, it did not. then she started going on and on about how NONE of the designs available really matched her invites and "don't you have any that do??". Ms. Postal Worker, without going postal, very slowly explained to Mrs. Fussy Britches that she did not control what the designs were and that the assortment she'd laid out on the counter was what Fussy Britches had to choose from. Very discretely, she moved Fussy Britches to one side of the counter and asked what I needed... just a book of stamps, I don't care what kind. She rang me up and I was on my merry way as Fussy Britches declared, "Well NONE of these match the invites! Don't you have anything else? These are SHOWER invites, not wedding invites!"
Lord help me if I (or my mother) ever get so frickin' bridezilla-ish over some bloody stamps!

in other news, we're thinking about setting a date. hopefully by the end of the month, we'll have a date and a venue picked out. Date possibilities for next year are 3-29, 4-05, and 4-20. I told Chris last night that I was mad that he'd missed the first month of our engagement, when I was so happy to be engaged and utterly Obsessed with all things Wedding Planning. So, we decided to start looking at venues this month, so hopefully we'll get back into that happy-obsessed mode again... this time, as a Couple.
