I was sooo tired today at work (my own fault for staying up til 2) but this little guy really brightened my afternoon. He came up to scrounge some food from the birdfeeder 2 of my coworkers put outside between their office windows.

Last week, my brother and I took a little road trip down to Kentucky to see Mammoth Cave National Park. I haven't been on any kind of trip is sooo long! It was time off well deserved.

I had a full day yesterday and since I was documenting part of it with pictures anyway, I decided to do the whole day while I was at it. ( It's all beneath the cut. )

Sunday afternoon I was outside with my niece playing on her new fancy-shmancy swing set. She was going down the slide and I was helping her (since she's only 2). When she got to the bottom, she clamored right away and I looked down at the base of the slide. I saw what I thought was a cicada shell laying feet up. I went to pick it up and it moved! This morning, I was sitting by my fireplace looking through a book when I heard this scratching noise. Freaked me out! But me, with my less than stellar hearing, didn't realize where the sound had come from. At first I worried that Cheza had gotten stuck somewhere, but no, she was fine. My mom took Casper (the family cat) to the vet today to get his teeth cleaned - he's got bad teeth that get infected easily, poor boy - and when she came home not only did she bring Casper back, but a new puppy too! He's a sad story as well ( Read more... )
