the home stretch
The manuscript is finished, and is currently sitting at a grand total of 35,980 words. I need to edit this sucker and trim 5,980 words off its bloated carcass before the 30th. *falls over*
I began writing in November, and aside from a few interruptions (school, Christmas) I've written fairly frequently. I made a chapter plan, which worked in that it gave me direction when I felt like I had writer's block, but wasn't a be-all and end-all road map to doneness. It feels damned good to be done, and to say that I'm done.
Except for edits. :P
