Home Stretch!

I will soon be donedonedone with IB art. NO MORE ENCAUSTIC HEADACHES EFF YEAH! 8D More shocking than anything, though, is that I'm actually really excited about the idea of doing my year-end show- I'm PROUD of the art I've made over this year, and I KNOW I've improved as an artist, which is kind of a big deal for me. So, with a bit of luck and a LOT of poster tac (lulz, it's the only way to hang my puzzle-piece works, since the board is too thin to drill into for wires XD), I'll have a damned legit gallery show.

And yes, if anyone is interested, there will be pictures. So you can finally see what I've been doing for the past two years. And it'll look way awesome. :3

In other news, things are simultaneously winding down and picking up. Essays and research projects are giving way to massive quantities of studying for my tests looming on the horizon, and things at home are starting to pick up towards packing, college shopping (sooo excciiitted), job hunting and househunting as well. It's exciting and tumultuous- everything, everything is changing, but I strongly feel it's for the better. I personally can't wait.

I've also decided I'm going to go for a classical studies major and either a physics or a chemistry minor. It just makes the most sense for me- I want a science under my belt, but I want a major I'll genuinely enjoy, and I KNOW I'll love classics. It's the best choice for me, hands down, and I'm done pandering to the wants of others: it's time to do what I want for myself.

(This means ancient philosophy, history and language classes, oh yes. I've decided I'm taking Hebrew and Arabic, because, you know, I'm insane. Or maybe it's the fact I'm already familiar with the one language, and Arabic actually isn't THAT different. Same root language, Aramaic.)

IN DOLL NEWS:

I got face-up supplies! 8D Well, actually, I kind of still need to get brushes, BUT. I have soft pastels, Testors Dullcote, Pearl Ex Shimmer powders, gloss, acrylic paint. Need to get some teeny-tiny brushes (although I may go the cheap-o q-tip route), brush cleaner, and acrylic paint thinner. Still, I can start blushing like now... well, like-as-soon-as-it-stops-raining, anywho. XD So stoked. Clio's going to get a blue/gold/green/sepia color palette, inspired by those gorgeous antique globes and maps. My friend said she may even make her an itty-bitty steampunk outfit, which would be absolutely amazing, since I'm more or less compromising with myself and using my steampunk redux outfit for AMA this year (I just do not have the time to bash out an actual cosplay. Ah well.)

Juust need the time. After tomorrow, things will take a turn for the art/relaxing, as I won't have anything major coming up. I also have two half-days this week, so, that will SO help. XD Things are looking pretty okay. n_n
