Summary:

Researchers in France studied both the short-term antiviral effect of Danoprevir (ITMN-191/RG7227) monotherapy as well as its impact (if any) on insulin resistance.  All patients were HCV genotype 1. Four cohorts contained treatment-naïve patients, while the fifth contained prior non-responders to peginterferon/ribavirin.  At the end of 14 days of monotherapy there was a  mean decrease in viral load  of 2.2±1.3 log(10)in patients who received the active drug (n=40), with a close correlation between the extent of HOMA-IR improvement and the decrease in viral load. The researchers concluded that "HCV protease purchase cialis may restore insulin sensitivity in patients with genotype 1 HCV."
