Chapter 3 “Stop!”
His voice echoed through the loud noises in the room.
“What the hell are you cutting?” he hollered and my hands froze instantly.
Noises were drained away in the split second and the room became awfully silent. My body stiffened as I felt nine pairs of eyes fixed upon my back and my hands shook slightly.
“I told you to trim my fringe and not to cut it shorter!” he yelled and shot daggers at me through the mirror.
Anger rose within me in a flash and I closed my eyes. Placing my hands back on my sides, I took in a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. I took a quick recap on his instructions and my actions too.
I had followed his instruction closely and merely trimmed off a few strands of hair from his fringe in the progress because I thought that it might irritate his eyes during his performances. And now, I was being ticked off by him due to that.
Can someone tell me exactly what I have done wrong?
Clenching my jaws tightly, I watched in silence as he attempted to comb his fringe to the side. For a moment, I thought I caught a smile on his lips when he realized that his fringe was still of the same length previously. I couldn’t help but to roll my eyes in annoyance.
What a joke. So I’ve got scolded for nothing in the end? What on earth is wrong with this guy?
Before I could open my mouth, he stood up from the seat and turned around. Eying me from the corner of his eyes, he shot a hard glare.
“Thankfully, my fringe wasn’t damaged under your hands,” he muttered softly before walking away.
My eyebrows twitched in irritation and a scowl ran across my face.
Instead of being grateful, he yelled and even criticized me in front of everyone! I can’t believe that such ridiculous and arrogant people actually do exist in this world!
----------------------------------------------
After I had cleaned up everything, I settled down on my seat and took out my bottle. While uncapping the bottle, I heard some soft whisperings from the members and decided to listen to their conversation quietly.
“Chii, what’s with you shouting at Yori-chan just now?” Yuto asked while drumming his fingers against Daiki’s arm this time round.
Yuuri shrugged and proceeded to comb his fringe with his fingers.
“Well, I asked her to trim my fringe and since I didn’t request to cut it, I thought she had chopped off a big chunk when I saw a lock of hair fell onto the cloth,” he answered innocently.
I frowned upon hearing his answer and made a disgusting expression.
Come on, dude. Who the hell would be so daring to chop off a big chunk from your fringe? Hello, the person might get fired instantly, on the spot. And what’s with you and your fake innocent expression?
“Eh?”
Yuuri merely nodded and popped open his drink before taking a sip.
“But you do look good with this new fringe. It’s of the appropriate length for you,” Ryosuke complimented while reading his Korean magazine and Yuuri touched his fringe again.
I rolled my eyes as I caught the sight of him trying to suppress his smile after being praised.
Dude, just admit that I was the one who had cut out such a nice hairstyle for you. It doesn’t kill you to say a ‘Thank You’.
“Yori-chan doesn’t seem to be just an amateur. She’s able to cut out a hairstyle that satisfied our picky Chii,” Kei joked and Yuuri raised his eyebrows before shaking his head.
“That doesn’t count. Overall, she’s still scolded by me,” he said lightly and took another sip from his drink.
I choked on my water and stared at him in disbelief.
Hey, idiot! I don’t deserve your scolding in the first place! How could you speak so lightly with such arrogance about it? Oh, I got it. It’s because you weren’t the one who was being scolded and embarrassed in front of so many people!
Slamming my bottle against the table, I could feel anger rising within me again.
I can no longer tolerate his arrogance! This is what you get for testing my patience! Feel my wrath, Chinen Yuuri!
Not even bothered to cap the bottle, I stomped my way in his direction and slammed both palms against the table. It startled the rest of the members. They stared at me in shock while Yuuri merely eyed me with an oh-it’s-you-and-what-do-you-want look. I shot a menacing glare straight into his eyes and stabbed a finger in his face.
“Congratulations, you’ve just cross my border. You’d better start watching your back, Chinen-san. The battle starts now,” I growled softly with a dangerous smile before turning on my heels and headed towards the door.
Be prepared, Chinen Yuuri.
--------------------------------------------
Hearing the loud slam from the door, the rest of the members shifted their attentions to the adorable boy. Most of them had their jaws dropped after the incident that happened just few seconds ago.
"Whoa. What was that, Chii? She sounded really pissed off. Did you say something rude to her again?" Yuya asked while his eyes were staring at the door in bewilderment.
Instead of replying, Yuuri scoffed softly before a scowl ran across his angelic face. He clenched his fists tightly and glowered at the door.
The battle starts now? You’re inviting me to challenge? What an interesting girl. This is starting to get fun.
“Mitsuno Yoriko, I accept your challenge. We shall see who’ll be the one left standing at the end,” he muttered quietly under his breath with a dangerous smirk.
“Chii, did you say something just now?” Yuto asked, thinking that he had heard a mumble from the younger boy.
However, Yuuri shook his head immediately.
"No, I didn’t. You must have heard it wrongly, Yuuti," he answered quickly and headed towards the door before closing it behind him.
Yuto stared at the door for a brief moment and averted his gaze to the other members.
“Is it just me or did Chii actually has a dark aura surrounding him earlier on?”
--------------------------------------------
Dumping my bag onto the chair beside my desk, I jumped onto the bed with my body lying faced down.
This is horrible! That idiot had just messed up another day of mine!
Just then, a vibration shot through my jeans and I rolled over. Fishing out the phone, I flipped it open and hit the ‘Read’ button.
From: Saaya-senpai
Message: Hello, my dear Yori-chan! How’s your day? (smiles)
Immediately, all the troubles and tiredness perished within that second. A smile was painted across my lips as my fingers sprawled out on the keypad, hitting the buttons furiously. Seconds later, another vibration came.
From: Saaya-senpai
Message: Eh? I see. That’s really bad. My younger brother has been complaining a lot to me recently as well. It seems like it’s just not a day for the both of you.
My heart skipped a beat when I read about her younger brother. Although I’ve never met her younger brother before, I’ve always has a good impression of him. I hit the buttons for the second time and soon enough, the vibration came again.
From: Saaya-senpai
Message: Oh? In any case, does Yori-chan like my younger brother? Well, you’re in luck then. For the blind date on Friday, he’s one of the three guys that I’ve invited. Grab your chance, okay? I’ll remind you about it again. I’ve to go now. Bye! (smiles)
“Eh?” I blurted in surprise before slapping a hand over my mouth.
Thankfully, I was alone in the room. I heaved a sigh and removed my hand before punching the buttons for the third time. Lying back down on the bed, I closed my eyes and tried to relax my mind.
Is Saaya-senpai trying to match make the both of us together? Even though I’ve never seen him before, I had thought of him to be someone who looks somewhat like her.
At that moment, Yuuri’s face appeared in my mind and I shook my head roughly.
Oh come on, I bet Saaya-senpai’s younger brother is way better than that Chinen Yuuri, although the both of them do share the same family name. It’s totally atrocious for him to be her younger brother. That guy has way too much arrogance in him.
