My gardener has a good scam going with me...  Last year he said my bark is too thin, it's not stopping the weeds anymore.  So I pay him to put down new beauty bark.  Then he points out that my front lawn is mostly moss (which has been bugging me for some time), so I pay him to spray down some chemicals and rake out the dead moss.  Then he sprinkles ( Read more... )

Finally got the house in shape for painting on Saturday... I don't know how many man hours that took, but it was ridiculous! Sunday my dad sprayed a couple coats of paint on, and it looks pretty good. The only bummer is that nobody but me is going to be able to tell the difference between the old and new colors. Last night I played with my flame thrower, tried it out burning the weeds on my driveway. Some of the weeds seemed to weather better than others, but I'm hoping they will still die even if they didn't burst into flames like the grass did.
