morality can't be defined itself though to a society.
it can definitely be defined to an individual.

but while holding a door for a lady may be moral to you, it may not be moral to several women.

and i've always thought, being perfect is the worst thing there is.
i'm not sure if you were meaning utopian=perfect but once perfection is achieved, that's it. there's no more incentive. the poor people think of themselves as the richest people in the world. so does everyone else, for that matter. why strive for perfection, when the best thing that can happen to us is to just strive for perfection but not achieve it.

jah, i dunno if that was very sensible.

btw, don't write for other people. (if you want to use your journal as a means of personal expression and output.) it will censor yourself from writing what you really want to be writing.

aannnnd..finaaalllyyy... read my review for passion of the christ on my livejournal. i totally trashed that shit.

i was saying that my opinion ( i think ) and that of Socrates was that although it is generally thought that Morals and Ethics are subjective, it is maybe possible that they are set in stone. Somehow existing regardless of public opinion. If this were the case then it wouldnt matter what you think is moral because it would be. Of course this brings the philosophy of reality and perception and existence in the play. It becomes absurdly complicated with "ifs". also, i dont think holding the door open is a matter of morals as much as it is of manners. Popular opinion is holding the door open is nice.

yea perfection and acheiving it. damn thats a whole other entry but in short (if its possible) i would say that achieving it is hard enough that it wont matter what comes after because its a long road to getting there. id worry about what comes after perfection once we're much closer to it. and we're not so close.

yeah i agree that this is way too hard to intelligently discuss in a comment.

and about perfection, i wouldn't say we're that far away. i'm sure it's very hard to really say what's perfect. but if perfection=achieving life's meaning (whatever that is), we can all be perfect in a day.
