THE VERDICT

Sep 28, 2003 02:21

Well, the verdict is in. If I want another dog I have to volunteer at an animal shelter or the SFSPCA for 6 months, and then my parents will consider letting me get another dog. Key word: consider. So, even after 6 months of volunteering it's possible they still would say no. Plus, the dog I want will probably already be adopted in 6 months. Anyway, Monday after school I'll go to the SFSPCA to inquire about volunteering. Everyone I've talked to says I'll clean crap, clean crap, and then clean more crap.

The thing is, I think my parents are just testing me. I don't think they even expect me to go to the SFSPCA on Monday. I think they figured once I heard their verdict I'd just give up. So maybe if I tell them my plans and volunteer for like a week or a month they'll lower the time limit. I do understand where they're coming from. I know adopting a dog, or any animal, should not be a rushed decision. But I've been wanting this dog for a long, long time, and they've been thinking over their decision for a long, long time. But 6 months, man, that's entirely too long a wait!
