Episode Review - Battlestar Galactica - Passage

Dec 10, 2006 01:39

Let me start off saying that there wasn’t nearly enough SQUEE in the episode. And yet, it still serves the Squee. We’ll get there. The premise for last night’s episode - the food shortage? That’s dumb. It was a good strong episode for characters, but with one exception (which, of course, I’ll get to), it was dumb and did not lead the plot anywhere ( Read more... )

Except for Gaeta. Dude could have fried him with that glare. What crawled up his ass?

Probably the fact that Tigh wasn't in jail for trying to murder him for nothing. :)

I dunno that Gaeta should be falling on his knees to give Tigh a blow job from sheer joy over Tigh's return. Not after Tigh basically ordered his murder, slurred his manhood during his near murder, and then had the gall to not apologoze when proof is provided that Tigh's sorry ass is alive because of Gaeta.

Yeah I know, I wasn't ignoring that fact. I'm just thinking that it's about time he moved on like he did with the others, and the others with him.

It's kind of like asking him to move on from being raped by having sex with his rapist. I mean... not to be shippy and arguementative, but under this logic, Kara should be well over her horrific childabuse and therefore not allowed to cite that as a valid reason for her to be a complete cunt to all around her.

Oh hell don't get me wrong, I think he has every right to be pissed, I just don't see how glaring at Tigh in CIC is going to help his cause, especially if he's going to have to work with him every day.

It ain't like Tigh came up and shook his hand from joy either. They'll be ok. They just aren't friends and I kinda liked that Felix wasn't trying to lick Tigh's ass here. Tigh did a shitty thing to Felix and doesn't deserve to have Felix applaud him.

They don't need to be friends. I actually like seeing Gaeta have more of a spine than he had pre-NC.
And I actually hope they have a stand-off sometime soon, but I doubt they will. It's kinda too late.

Maybe Saul feels like if Felix hadn't ratted him out on rigging the elections that none of that New Caprica crap would have happened and he'd still have his snugglebunny Ellen?

I'm glad he didn't clap for Saul entering either, but if the rest of that crew can get over all the crap they've dealt with then so can Felix. I'm sure within the next episode or two we'll see them working together again like nothing happened.

I liked your review blondi. It brought up several points I hadn't even noticed when watching. The cylon side of things was definitely the high point for me. Wish I had gotten a better look at her doodles she was showing Gaius. x.x

Yup, and maybe if Saul had fixed the election a little better, none of this would have happened. If he's pissed that Felix was *honest*, then what does that say about him? Because Baltar didn't cheat in that election, only Roslin, through Tigh and Dee did. There's sooo many ways he could have prevented Gaeta from stopping him in his election plans... I have a hard time pinning the election fiasco on *Gaeta* when he was just being stupidly naive and seems to feel pretty shitty about it. Does Tigh feel shitty about almost murdering a man who helped save his life? No.

And maybe if Tigh had not jumped the fucking gun, he wouldn't have needed to murder his wife. He needed to wait four days to keep her alive and he was handing her a cup of poison on day one. That is not Felix's fault.

Sorry - I don't mean to sound cranky. I don't understand why it's so surprising that Gaeta hasn't forgiven Tigh. Tigh certainly made a loud point of not forgiving Felix when he ragged the guy out in the middle of the CIC as a traitor, and there's been no public apology so I don't see why Felix is head fucking asshole for not running down and kissing Tigh's shoes for Tigh showing up to work sober for a change.

I also don't see where's he's "gotten over it" with the others.

Did I miss that episode?

Hehe it's alright. Everyone's going to see the show differently through their eyes. I don't see Felix as being a bad guy and as I said before I'm glad he didn't cheer Saul on when he showed up. Saul was upset after losing his severelyscrewedup-significant other. He showed up drunk to work and took it out on Felix. It wasn't right, but there were reasons for it. Now if Felix showed up in the CIC yelling at Saul I think we'd all just laugh our asses off (sorry, funny mental image). No character is perfect on this show, but I like Saul with all his faults more than Felix. I just like the guy. Hell, I liked Ellen in season one when everyone used to cringe at the mention of her name on forums. They remind me of real people in my life, irrational and severely flawed people. That makes for some fun television ( ... )

I think Saul might feel bad about many things, but he's the type to be too prideful to admit it.

Thats cool, thats close to my opinion on Tigh as well ( I rather like Tigh as it happens) This is why I totally don't think Felix is out of line to *glare* at Tigh.

Felix would be out of line to kill Tigh, or beat Tigh up, or humilate Tigh. (and these are things that Tigh has done or has tried to do to Felix but just because he did, it doesn't give Felix the right to do the same) Unlike say, *Tigh*, Felix is not using his rage as an excuse to fucking kill people who piss him off slightly.

Tigh did a very shitty thing to Felix and Felix *glared* at him. He didn't kick the old man's ass or murder him or publically rag the old man out. When I start seeing people actively decrying how *Tigh* humilated Felix in public and *almost murdered* Felix and how he *never apologized* to Felix, then I will agree that Felix needs to get over it and stop *glaring* at Tigh as punishment.

I dunno. It was a group of six people (atleast half of which Felix knew) who decided to kill him. Throw on top of that his Vice President of yore signing the executive order. None of them apologized. They just went back to business and pretended like it never happened. Is he glaring at Kara or Tyrol or the others everytime too? I think it would be kind of funny if we would see little snippets of 'the glare' when he passes one of them in the hall.

Saul humiliated himself more in that CIC incident than he did Felix. At any rate, Felix is a professional soldier and knows better than to go yelling or attacking one of the officers. He's much smarter than that. That said, I hope he isn't waiting for an apology or hug, because it's not going to happen. He's in the military afterall.

It's interesting how you refer to Felix on a first name basis and Saul on a last name basis.

I am not saying that Tigh is more culpable than any of the others but that Tigh personally has made no effort on screen to make ammends with Gaeta. The only one who has is Tyrol, and rather half assed at that, but thats better than Tigh's nothing.

That said, I hope he isn't waiting for an apology or hug, because it's not going to happen. He's in the military afterallAs someone who has been in military, I agree that Felix should not expect a hug. However, he should expect Adama to treat Tigh the same way he treats Gaeta and I somehow doubt that Gaeta would have gotten a few weeks off to drink for ANY reason. Tigh fucked up. He made a mistake. He has not apologized. There's no way around Tigh fucking up. There's no way to say that when Tigh led the charge to murder Gaeta on no evidence that Tigh was NOT fucking up. Tigh let his rage get the best of him and he almost murdered Gaeta. He allowed Kara to beat Gaeta. Gaeta saved his life. Gaeta has the right to *glare* at him and be pissed at him until Tigh grows some balls and admits his ( ... )

Hehe what a coincidence. I was in the military as well. I think it's the reason I like Saul, he reminds me of one of my first shirts ( ... )

Who pulled his file and threw it on the table? You think Saul snuck his file in there? You just really have it in for him on this topic and I realize there will be no convincing you otherwise. A resistance group tried to kill him. Not one man. Do I agree with them doing it? No.
Then what is the problem with Gaeta not being happy that Tigh has returned to the CIC. Ok, fine, *Someone other than Tigh* put Gaeta's file down. Now who argued that if his own wife had to die, then Gaeta also should? Was it Adama? Or was it *Tigh*? Who browbeat Tyrol into changing his vote when Tyrol felt that there was no evidence to support the idea that Gaeta killed anyone? Was it Kara and *Saul ( ... )
