pour the milk and i'll say when

The first CD I ever bought was The Lemonheads' It's A Shame About Ray. I was fifteen and didn't have any money (like, literally) so I had to beg my mother for money. Miraculously, she gave it to me - $27 (expensive even today) for the CD, which I bought and listened to on repeat with my head between the speakers. It's just as well the album is quite palatable to parental ears, even though if you listen carefully there are all these references to getting high and drug buddies and all that. But they did do a pretty decent cover of Mrs Robinson and I guess that kept the parents happy.

Actually, the Lemonheads isn't so much a band than it is just Evan Dando, the hippie-esque singer/songwriter frontman. He doesn't sing particularly well and the songs are not ground-breaking, but there's a certain charisma about the man. In fact, I think I bought the album because I read a Rolling Stone interview about him. That's marketing for you.

It's not like he isn't good looking, too:

I wanna be with someone else
