broadcast me a joyful noise

Jan 31, 2005 19:41

I've been awake and working since 5.45am and the caffeine only just kicked in. It doesn't help that it's so hot these days - just being out of an air-conditioned room guarantees a sticky face and a sheen over your skin.

Anyway, the show that we were all gearing up for went well today. No thanks to the lousy PR firm that was supposed to 'help' us with the planning. My colleagues and I did most of the work. I went home after the show to shower and change, and the moment I returned to the office, it was back-to-back meetings from 3.30pm - 6.30pm.

This is what my iPod (what would I do without it?) has to say about my day:

The lights went out, the oil ran dry
We blamed it on the other guy
Sure, all men are created equal...

Broadcast me a joyful noise unto the times, lord,
Count your blessings.
Ignore the lower fear
Ugh, this means war.

It's been a bad day.
Please don't take a picture.
It's been a bad day.
Please.

~ 'Bad Day', R.E.M.

It's 7.45pm now and I'm going to take the long train ride home by myself now (J's at someone's wedding dinner), which is actually not as sad as it sounds. I think I will enjoy the quiet ride and the music on my ride.
